I love the manga lots, but what can we expect for a sequel after almost 9 years of the original being complete? Another thing, is it possible if this does really well there may be hope for an anime reboot for Fruits Basket?

Tell me your thoughts and expectations !

Oh my gosh, we'd better get a reboot! I mean, if a lot of people read the new manga as well as purchasing the new versions of the original series that they're going to be releasing, then maybe there'll be a chance!
However, I still have my doubts, considering the fact that Natsuki Takaya refused to allow a second season after seeing how much they butchered the first. (or so I've heard). Let's just hope that maybe she's had a change of heart? Especially since the manga is completed now, so the anime studio will have something to go by and not have to make as many assumptions. (ex. In the original anime, they assumed Akito was a guy since the manga was incomplete, avoided the plot line involving the hat, left out Shigure's darker personality, ect.)

As for this sequel...

Am I the only one that hopes that the main protagonist will end up with Momiji?? After all, they said that Kyo, Tohru, and Yuki wouldn't be in the story, but that doesn't necessarily mean that characters like Momiji and Hatsuharu won't be! Haha.

Did anyone notice the like color picture they have out with Sawa, Hajime, Mutsuki, and the head of the Mutsuki fanclub (<----assuming this because of events in chapter3) on it. There are 3 other characters strategically like hidden/covered?

Anyways I think these discussion boards might be the only thing that keeps me sane while I wait for the next chapter. I want more info so bad. I am already in love and feel like there is so much nostalgia.

I really don't get it. Fruits Basket won so many awards around the world and it's been so well received amongst all audiences. It's probably the most famous shoujo manga out there. Shoujo mangas are so underrated. If it was a shounen it would have already had another anime adaptation, like FMA and Hunter X Hunter. ~sigh~
