| I don't know Total eclipse so I'm relying on Shingeki no Kyojin here for recommending Tokyo Ghoul and Death Parade/Death billiards :) With character development but not like SnK Donten ni Warau (suprisingly for a supporting character, and some for the main ones as well; its main genre is shoujo though) Durarara! |

Here's a good place to start: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/lexicon.php Shoujo/shounen refer to manga series that are carried in magazines targeting girls and boys respectively. Josei/seinen refer to series carried in magazines targeting adult women and men. Anime series are classified based on the material being adapted. Original anime productions, a small fraction of the total, might be unofficially classified as one genre or the other based on content. For instance, most observers would probably consider Zankyou no Terror a "seinen" series, though it was written expressly for the noitaminA anime television slot. I'll suggest Monster, Dennou Coil, and Seirei no Moribito on general principles. |
