Self-explanitory.

I have to say, for me, the saddest thing i'v seen in a yuri was Shizuma's mental breakdown after Kaori died. I didn't even feel bad for Kaori, i didn't like that characters, but i like Shizuma alot and that was a pretty tough scene to watch.

Maria-sama ga Miteru -->

Kashimashi -->

R.O.D the TV -->

Those are what I can think of for now.

It's so heart breaking! This is why I like the manga's ending more.

I'm very sappy and sensative so i'll be back with more moments.

Like everyone has already said, the ending of Kannazuki no Miko.
Beautifully sad ending to a beautifully sad anime series.
Loved it. <3

I become attached to the sadest characters (" =_=).

In hindsight, some of these are not quite as dramatic as, say the KnM ending, but at the time I found them quite sad.

Burst Angel (anime)

Marimite (anime/manga/novels)

Utena (anime)

Strawberry Panic! (anime)

And lastly the aformentioned Natsuki's rejection of Shizuru.

I'll add one more notion to the pool for the ending KnM being very sad, maybe a bit contrived, but represented well enough that most of the people here think it was well done. sorry Nova1337.

My pick has to go to traveler yumi or (yami to boushi to hon no tabibito)
-"Just an ordinary woman who won't ever regret, being with the person she loves."
(Rokujou Ruri, Azure Dream, manga)

What puzzles me is that it remains in the top 7 series being watched on MAL. I though it was a small game-based yuri anime not many would know of. It's above popular things like K-On!

but really I liked the show the story had it's district flaws but it was over all a creative venture that was fun to watch.

kaigen, this is what everminded is referring to: Clicks me!!

And Blue Drop was a lovely anime... if it knew what it wanted to be. I wished they either concentrated on the sci fi or the school girl romance, since both felt halfway developed.

The ending made me SDIEIR E-0450-495CD VLG.

it is sad for me to see that I may be the only one that liked traveler yumi that's to bad. I guess it evens out sense I wasn't big on Maria-sama or strawberry panic, I didn't hate them just liked other yuri better ^_~

I'm a sapp for three way romances I don't like them because they hurt my feelings,
so strawberry panic's ending did get to me.

These are kinda hard for me to think of. I've never actually cried or have had a big reaction to movies or shows since I was a young teen.

But there are a few that tripped me up

The end of Utena

The rest are not that well known...

The end of Midnight Flowers (manga and prequel to Moonlight Flowers)

Devilman Lady.....I'm kinda surprised that I got into this one...

I also thought that the endings to Yami to Boushi and Blue Drop were sad as well

What got the biggest reaction out of me so far was actually a game, I actually got upset >///<

Also, in Strawberry Panic (manga), it was pretty sad when Shizuma was remembering Kaori.

I wonder if that's why people pass out in anime when they get rejected? But I've heard that mental stress often effects you physically, too. It's pretty interesting...

About yami... and sad... and the fact that it is just like a collection of stories that is tying to be tied to Hazuki's trip... I think Hakuki's journey was the saddest thing ever.... just seeing her dragging the sword arounf with the bandages on... certain scenes when she reflects about her feelings and stuff.... that was pretty sad... I guess that depressive levels came down with the boobs and random stories..

The only sad yuri type moment that I remember is the Ga-rei Zero one. I was so glad that I decided to finish it after stopping half way for months...I have seen burst angel and mai hime but I do not remember them well enough. Not yuri but one series that this thread is making me think of is Saikano. It got so sad and redundant that I could not even finish it >_>.
