a lot of the anime i have seen recently seem to all go in the same sort of predictable direction so i need something that isn't so predictable and can keep me guessing what is going to happen. can be any genre but i would prefer a romance anime because i have not seen many and don't recommend school days because i already know what happens.

Mars of destruction;
For a 17 minute ova it draws you into a complex and intriguing storyline with steller animation and art. The reveal at tge end clikax will certainly leave you amazed at how suberbly delivered it was. Oh and avoid reviews as they spoil the plot most of the time.
I've been here way too long...

Parasyte is pretty unpredictable, but it's not yet complete.

It's slow paced, but that just adds to the overall greatness.

Berserk doesn't stay true to the manga, the end of the anime is messed up.

I dont know about the TV anime i heard it good but the movies do skip a decent amount of things from the manga so i recommend the manga if you want the story unchanged and plus the art is amazing in the manga while the TV series art/animation is very dated and movies used ALOT of CGI

-Durarara? (It kept me on my toes the whole time with quite some plot twists at every turn, the idea of 'love' is rather important to the story but it's not really romance.)
-Tokyo Ghoul? (Don't listen to the people nagging about how horrible it is, it's quite good and it also kept me on my toes and after every episode I though 'only one more')
-Kiseijuu (Quite good even though all these girld suddenly being in love with the main characters irritates me, it really has some unexpected twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat)
I'm not rude... I just wasn't taught to politely pretend to be nice to people I can't stand.

It definitely does. It is FAR from a slice of life, trust me on that note. Also, not every Slice of Life is bad.

See Haibane Renmei.

+++++++Monster (No explanation needed: GODFATHER of the psychological genre and lets not forget, it has THE BEST villain in any anime like EVER)

Haha nope. Once you'll finish the Anime, you'll know why. Keep watching it. It gets so good once it really gets going.
