I think that this series is really good, amazing, almost the best i have ever seen. And it proboably would be if it didnt kill off its characters like they were nothing. I understand they want to keep the drama high and the amount of characters low for them to be able to focus more on single targets. But really?
You dont have to add more characters if you are just gonna kill them after showing them like 3 episodes,
"but they killed others before they need to add new characters" THEN DONT F****** KILL THOSE CHARACTERS. Imo all the killing makes me want to stop watching this more then it makes me want to keep watching for more drama. Opinions on this?

"All the killing" is this shows identity...you take it away and there is little left.

And your last sentence is pretty much what the troll of an author wanted...

For you that dont understand, this is me: :) i am happy i found a good show to watch with gr8 characters.

"Oh hey this Sheele character is an airhead but is really kawaii and funny, what a genious character designer!" *20 min later* "Sheele noh pls don die... (my current condition: :) im really sad for the moment because they killed off one of my favorite characters and the only real nice person in this whole concept. But i bring myself to keep watching not too soon after because i like this show) oh well i guess ill keep watching for now."

"Hey this Bulat guy didnt seem too exiting before but hes actually a really nice guy and another great character" *2 sec later* "Bulat pls stay with me..." (my current condition: :/ i mean they killed 2 characters already on the first couple of episodes, call me cray cray but this seems like a really weird concept, w/e ill keep watching anyways) So Bulat died... well shie now they are really losing numbers in the Night Raid, i wonder if they plan to introduce some new faces soon.

Meanwhile when Leone and Akame is fighting Bols: "he self destructed and killed two characters at once huh... yeah im fucking done with this (which i would have been if both hadnt survived).

"The new characters are devloping pretty nicely. That Susanoo fgt doesnt seem that good of a character but this Chelsea person is starting to get interesting, she seems to be changing from her cold unforgiving self because of her feelings for Tatsumi." *0.5 sec later* "Wow she killed that masochist looking dude, meh i kinda liked him (current condition: :/ sad panda) *meanwhile sobbing because of his deat, 0.25 sec later* "they killed off chelsea... ya dun (FDUCKGING) goofed, piece of shie author" (current condition: >:( im angry and sad and ready to quit this slaughterfest called "Action(gore), Adventure(manslaughter), Fantasy(mindless horror)."

Im litterally scared of watching episode 18, not because i dont like drama, because i do, i understand that its a big part of the series. But i am afraid of my mom coming into my room after i smash my monitor on my knee and finds me crying in a corner.

You realize that what you just said is that the author wanted people to stop watching this show completely...?

I Misread...

The series has a tendency to trap people because they're already in too deep to stop now regardless whether they like or dislike the show.

The deaths are somewhat unavoidable because of the rules that are inherent in the story... which are fairly unforgiving. ("If two teigu users with intent to kill clash, without fail one of them will be a victim.")

Lol call Susanoo a fgt again and we're going to have a problem.

Then, in my humblest of opinions, they should keep the number of characters on the protagonists side low and the number of antagonists high, that way they dont have to kill off the most liked characters.

Should keep in mind tho that this is not a happy story, you should have realised that by episode 1. As it is going now, currently starting episode 18, it seems like the author never planned to have a happy story, but instead a more real story. A story that shows you that protagonists actually can die, and not go 1v10 and come out like piece of cake.

Yea, that's the vibes I'm getting from it. Since the series main focus is killing off characters, it isn't that impacful when it happens on a regular basis.

Yeah, and all the killing make me always wondering like 'Let's see, who gonna die next?'

I agree that while I will miss some of these characters, I wouldnt have wanted it done any other way.

If characters didnt die in this show it just wouldnt have the same impact.

I am not saying deaths are the ONLY good thing, i like the characters, plot, action etc etc, but characters dying is just part of this shows identity.

This is why this probably won't be an indefinite ongoing shounen like many others, will have to have an ending sooner than most shounen because he cant just keep introducing characters t kill them off, id say it probably pretty close to the end of the manga.

either way, i have enjoyed it greatly and it wil remain one of my favs, i have faith the ending will be good considering ive enjoyed the whole ride so far.

Killing characters can make for an effective way to get the story moving. Akame ga Kill seems to do it to ramp up shock value for shock value's sake, and thus it becomes impossible for me to care after a while

No. When the side character who we don't care about gets a lot of screen time or a backstory in an episode.

I did say extra didn't I? So basically it's the side characters who is almost irrelevant at first but then gets the center of attention.

One thing I like about Akame compare to other battle shounen is that no Nakama power to save the day. No asspull.

Dead character stay dead. No Edo Tensei to bring them back. I got troll by Kishimoto when Pain attack Konoha and decided to revive everyone.

But it's important to remember that a movie review is subjective;it only gives you one person's opinion.

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person. If elitist don't exist, casual pleb and shit taste also don't exist.

the characters dying is to create an emotional response from the audience but to do that you must first make the audience care about your characters. This is generally done through character development and the exploration of backstory — i.e., things that take time. Really, each of the main characters who have died in the first half of Akame Ga Kill only got a single episode each exploring their backstory before they were promptly killed off. Sadly, after so little time spent focusing on them, I found it hard to care emotionally about their deaths
