Hi everybody, I would like some recommendations about some anime/ manga that has a very intriguing and thick plot, one of those where you have to think really hard to get what's going on, that has quite nice plot twists and which the above said plot it's explained through multiple dimensions, multiple universes and different timelines..
so a lot of underplots apparently disconnected between each other but with time it's found out that all connects with the main plot.
Thanks

- Steins;Gate: obvious recommendation is obvious!...series and movie
- The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya: especially in the second season (...good luck!) and in the movie.
- Puella Magi Madoka Magica: near the end there is something concerning multiple timelines...it's not really central till that point though.

- This is the second name of Mawaru Penguindrum.
- Also, check out Shinsekai Yori...thick plot and mistery driven...amazing story!

Holy shit the Nijigahara Holograph manga. Have fun figuring THAT out...

Urasawa Naoki is really good at introducing dozens of plot thread that all come together in the end. There is 20th Century Boys, Pluto and Monster (this one also has an anime adaption)

Don't forget Baccano.
What do you think? The meaning of our existence. Why do we continue to live?

For anime I'd say Baccano

For manga Eden: It's an Endless Word

As mentioned before Urasawa loves having several perspective characters, Billy Bat is one of his recent works that does this too. If your referring to time travel though, the only thing that comes to mind is Wagatsuma no Yome and Harukana no Mach E

I hear the name of MAdoka Magica everywhere, even here in Italy where anime fans are really casual always nominate this anime, I'll surely give it a try, I read the synopsis and it seems weird.

I'll also watch Suzumiya Harui, it seems particular, even though I see there are two groups of people about this one, loved or hated.

Thank you I'll give those a try!

Ahah...non sei l'unico italiano qui!

- Yeah, it is nominated a lot...and for a reason...it is an amazing tale about friendship, wishes, loss and despair. Remember to stick with it at least till the end of episode 3 before considering dropping it, since that is the turning point from a somewhat cheerful magical girl setting to a dark one.
- To like Haruhi you need to like the female MC. Many people don't like the series because they don't like Haruhi's personality. There is also much hate specifically towards the second season...you'll eventually understand why.
