I just finished Mirai Nikki and am currently suffering from withdrawals, the same type which I suffered when I finished GTO and Death Note (both of which I finished and gave a 10/10).

Please recommend... something... Need... something... similar... can't... breathe... meow -___-"

Steins;Gate. Not exactly the same but I think that it'll give you the same thrill as Mirai Nikki.

Yeah - I've heard of it! I've read part of the manga ages ago and it was pretty intriguing. It's by Nitro Plus or something. I'm contemplating whether I should read the VN or just delve straight into the anime.

What do you think?

Ah - that looks great, but it's only a two episode OVA. Not enough. :( I'll check it out, though! Thanks :)

Oh sweet, I'm going in right now :P

12 episodes?! Wait, never mind I saw that it's an ongoing manga. This should get me started. I'll start right away! XD

After I finished it I was so pissed because it was so good (gave it a 9/10), yet it didn't get a full Tv series.

Yeah - that one I will definitely try as well. I saw parts of the manga a long time ago and it pulled me in! I completely forgot about that one. Thanks for reminding me!

Does the anime follow the manga faithfully or should I just ditch the anime and go for the manga?

I'll check this out after I finish Btooom. And then Steins Gate + Deadman Wonderland after that.

Hmm... well, all right. I'll watch the anime and then follow the manga. Whenever the two diverge in their storytelling, the manga always defaults as the true plot. Cheers!

The anime is spectacularly done along with the OVA and movie (which is an original piece). I personally prefer anime to VN but this is one of the times when they are right on par with each other. It's not as violent as Mirai Nikki but it actually gets up there probably half of the way through where things just start to go absolutely crazy. And the romance is very well done in this series also. It has a lot of the same elements as Mirai Nikki in terms of being a psychological thriller, tons of twists and a very novel concept driving the action forward. It also has an incredibly well done English dub. It starts a little slow but once it gets going, you're on for one hell of a ride.

I tried Major, and it wasn't too bad but once it got past the World Cup, it got a bit redundant. I liked it the most when Goro attended Kaido and then formed a new baseball team with the new high school team to compete against them. And after that it went downhill from there in my opinion. :(

I'm sort of sick of sports manga making the Japanese all star athlete/team lose against the American all-star athlete/team in the end, aka Ashita No Joe, Major, Eyeshield 21, etc. I mean, I'm not Japanese myself, but it gets pretty old seeing that repeating pattern in sports manga in general and it makes me want to punch the mangaka and tell him to have some pride in his/her own country.

Sorry for the rant. :P It had nothing to do with you. Major was a good manga. It just wasn't my thing in the end as I did have a few issues with sports anime/manga in general.

Sweet. I'll give it a shot then!

Um... it's not as violent as any of other works by Nitro-plus is it? I was hesitant about reading any VNs or watching any anime by Nitro-plus because I heard how incredibly gory they are, especially with Saya No Uta. I cringed when I read the torture scenes in Elfen Lied.

I don't mind gore up to Mirai Nikki or Death Note level. Just... not Elfen Lied level :(

Oh definitely not. I just thought that the gore from Mirai Nikki was what you were looking for. It's at a normal level. Nothing crazy. It's more psychological the shit that happens.

All right, I'll take your word for it :)

Right now it's Btooom! (which I'm really enjoying! Thanks :D), then followed by that two episode OVA, Steins; Gate, and Deadman Wonderland.

Nah, I liked Mirai Nikki for Gasai Yuno, that special ability/item akin to the death note or the Geass ability, and more importantly Gasai Yuno. XD

Hmm... Darker than Black doesn't appeal to me that much when I first watched it. Maybe I'll give it a shot again sometime in the future.

But I have heard good things about Guilty Crown, though there is also quite a lot of hate for that for some reason. I dunno, maybe I will like it maybe I won't =/

Code Geass is an anime on my PTW list that I am really looking forward to, so I'll watch that pretty soon.

Haven't heard of the other two, but Psycho-Pass looks promising. I heard that the mangaka who made Katekyo Hitman Reborn (she's one of my favorite mangaka ever) did the character design for this. No wonder the characters look a bit familiar!

Zetsuen no Tempest is probably the one I want to watch most. I'll put that on my PTW list. Thanks!

Based solely on your PTW that IMO go from the best to the "worst"

http://myanimelist.net/anime/19/Monster

http://myanimelist.net/anime/9253/Steins;Gate

http://myanimelist.net/anime/3588/Soul_Eater

http://myanimelist.net/anime/2924/ef:_A_Tale_of_Memories. ( it's a romance but I found it quite nice was not expecting much from it tbh. )

http://myanimelist.net/anime/30/Neon_Genesis_Evangelion

http://myanimelist.net/anime/6880/Deadman_Wonderland ( I would recommend the manga for this one in case you don't mind manga)

All right - I'm going to give into peer pressure take your advice and add Guilty Crown to my PTW. But... I've read some disturbing reviews of how it went in with high expectations and became a one of the biggest disappointments in anime. How much of that is true? =/

Deadman wonderland I'll probably just read the manga. I've read that the anime strays HEAVILY from the manga, so I'll just read the manga. I don't like anime that strays too far from the true story, which is usally the manga.

Darker Than Black was dropped for me, though I can't for the life for me recall why. @.@ I might pick it up again I dunno.

Oh wow, this made me cringe when I saw parts of it. Um... I'm going to have to pass on this. I like thriller, but I don't like horror too much - I can only take horror/gore along the lines of Mirai Nikki level. But thanks anyway. :)

Thanks for the suggestion! I was going to roughly follow that order anyway. Monster is a bit low priority mainly because I already finished the manga and it's fresh in my memory :D. Deadman wonderland I'm going straight into the manga for. But the rest I'll probably take your suggestion, much appreciated!
