Anime where Male Lead acquires Super Powers

Hello,
I would like to find an anime where the male lead either gets super powers when saving a girl or he gets killed when saving the girl and the girl gives him super powers and he turns out to be one of the best out of those who have these powers.

hm, maybe Shakugan no Shana, although it's been a while since i've seen it, can't quite remember if I'm correct in recommending it^^

Code Geass is the best option in that regard.

DON'T watch Guilty Crown. That show is trash.
