And so many new layers of mystery after another unfolds and yields so many sinister things, including Kinderheim11 and the horrible experiments they do on children, a Monster created by that experiment who is the perfect mass murderer, and the plan executed by that Monster to kill every last person in the city. Berserk - Don't want to give away too much. Let's just say he was betrayed by his best friend, raped by a pedophile as a child, had his lover raped in front of him by that "best friend" as he could do nothing, and to top it all off - his "best friend" had pretty much ascended to Godhood and is practically untouchable. Very, very dark. Gantz - Main character and an old friend dies saving a homeless man from a subway train. They get revived and taken to a black room where their lives are in the hands of a Black Ball called "Gantz". They are forced to fight for their lives by hunting down "Aliens" (who are so overpowered that in most missions, almost the entire team gets killed) and they have to constantly go back every few days to face the horror. |

| Oh, and how could I forget Angel Beats?! The main character Otonashi wakes up in a world where there is a battle taking place in what seems to be a high school campus. A literal battle, with guns and weapons and everything. But his memories have somehow gone missing. He cannot remember who he was or how he died. He finds out about the Afterlife Battlefront, where everyone has died unfairly and punished for something they didn't do, especially the leader Yuri who is fighting against "God" because of how unfair everything was. All the characters have unique backstories and reason to fight. All of them have tough lives, and the back story of Otonashi slowly gets revealed to be just as tough and with a death just as frustrating as theirs. Also, about Clannad - you could wait for a while say... a few weeks or months and then go back to it. Watch lots of anime, keep it out of your mind, and then after you've watched a good amount of anime to forget about the spoiled part of Clannad, rewatch it. And plus, if after a few months you don't forget the spoiler, most likely you'll never forget it anyway. But don't let that ruin everything! Clannad itself is meh for me. I didn't especially enjoy it, especially since I played the VN. The season 2 - After Story is where the heart of the show resides and where the anime truly shines. Especially episodes 16-18. Trust me, you'll want to watch After Story just for those 3 episodes. |
