Looping anime GIFs fluidly

Anime GIFs like this are popular now on sites like Tumblr:

Problem is when the animation is over it goes back in time like 5 seconds then starts over. It looks really awkward. But with a little looping, you can make it more fluid. Its real easy. This works for many anime GIFs like this (but won't look 100% fine on all of them). I'll do it in JASC Animation Shop step by step with visual examples and you can follow along with your own GIF you wanna loop. I'll smoothly loop the GIF from above!

Step 1: drag/copy the GIF into the program
Notice the program displays all its frames of animation from the first frame to the last and this one has 43 frames of animation. When frame 43 ends, it goes back to frame 1, which is why it has that awkward stutter where it seems to go back five seconds and start over.

Step 2: Select all frames in the GIF, copy them, and repaste them as a separate animation in the program
Select all with Ctrl+A on your keyboard. Using right click, copy the whole thing and repaste them outside of the animation but within the program.

Step 3: Delete the first and last frame of this new animation
It doesn't matter what the number of the frames are in your GIF. Just get rid of the first and last frames.

Step 4: Reverse the animation
Choose Reverse Frames from the top menu. This will reverse the order of the frames (frame 43 will switch with frame 1, frame 42 will switch places with frame 2 and so forth).

Step 5: Select all and copy the entire newly edited animation
Again, select all with Ctrl+A, then copy the entire thing with right click.

Step 6: Paste the new animation after the original animation
You can do this by clicking the last frame of the original animation, then right clicking and choosing "Paste after Current Frame".

Step 7: Save and enjoy!
Now this is the result after saving. The animation loops smoothly because we filled in the transition from the original first and last frame, with the animation itself but going backwards. This works very well for the many anime GIFs and animations like this because usually the character(s) is going in one direction, so we simply move them in the reverse direction and it doesn't look so awkward. This doesn't work for all GIFs but will for anime GIFs of this nature!

Do you have any suggestions to make picture transitions go more smoothly? I want to make a GIF with different images, it’s going to look sort of like a slide show.
Example: http://i.imgur.com/xeLjME0.gif
In that I just lowered the opacity to 50% and it looks okay. Any ideas of a better technique in what I’m talking about?
