I was all for TaigaxRyuuji in the beginning,
but then RyuujixMinorin doesnt seem so bad,
aand TaigaxKitmura seems out of the picture now,
some people even said MinorinxTaiga ahahaha !
whose your favorite pairing? :D!
or who do you think is going to be together in the end?
Maruobrawl said: I was gonna ignore the poll, but my love for The Pillows trumps all attempts at snobbery! And isn't there already a poll on Toradora couplings?
I don't really understand why that pole is in this thread, but oh well I voted for FLCL because The Pillows are great!
Anyway, as to the actual topic of this thread I would go with Ryuuji/Ami coupling. It seems to be the least popular and the least likely... but it's my choice and until episode 25 comes there's still that chance.

why can't the poll be just there as a add on to this thread? ahah !
i was really for AmixRyuuji considering Ami seems to like Ryuuji,
its just seems like she's not trying because of all the other couplings
thats going on, she seems so lonely to me ;o !

To me it seems like both Taiga and Minori are actually refraining themselves from trying too hard, for the sake of others. Ami seems a bit like an outsider and I would be pretty surprised if Ryuuji would suddenly choose for him.
Well, I'd like to see Ryuuji x Taiga. Or a sudden chance of plot and Minori x Taiga. That would be pretty awesome, but probably not realistic. And Yu-chan and Himura would be a cool couple. XD
On the other hand, I've said this a hundred times, and I'll say it again: I want AminxRyuuji. TaigaxRyuuji is way too obvious and would certainly affect my score on this series. I have no problem with MinorinxRyuuji, but with Minori acting much weirder than she once did, I don't exactly like her anymore. Ami is the most considerate and understanding of all, and is the best partner for Ryuuji. I mean, I know that Ryuuji will 99% end up with Taiga, but that's just too sad. I hope that they'll pull a plot twist at the end and Ryuuji will end up with Ami, or Minorin, or even Yacchan for that matter.
At this point, I really don't care where it goes. I'mma just watch, and pending on how the final episodes go, I'll either rage or rejoice. We'll see in due time.
If they really wanna throw us a twist, I hope Ryuuji ends with Yurichan-sensei. She'll be in love, married, and all will be right in the world. That, or Ryuuji finds his true love in...
I like RyuujixMinorin, but I have nothing against RyuujixAmi. I don't like pairing RyuujixTaiga (although I think that's exactly how it is going to end), because it so obvious and simple, and, well ... that's what everyone thought of from the beginning. No surprise. No twist. I normally rate my lists according to enjoyment, but this would definitely affect my scoring, too ...
i was really hoping for the minori and ryuji pairing.. and around the time they went to amis villa .. i thought ryuji and ami would be a good match.
more then that i want to know minoris backstory!
personally i don't want the taiga/ryuji thing to happen.. but, alas`

omg ! i desperately want them to have a episode strictly
to reveal wtf is up with Minorin ! o.o
im cosplaying her for anime expo, so i kinda want to know
more about her, and why she's so damn weird >< lmao
i dont see minorin with anyone honestly,
she's just wayyy to much !
Secura said: I've been hoping for AmixRyuuji since she was introduced. Minori is annoying and Taiga just doesn't seem right to be with him.
I actually think AmixRyuuji is a perfect pairing,
they are both mellow and non-complexed,
they are actually a perfect balance now that I
look at it,great choice :D !
Just a suggestion, you can use the same post to respond to multiple people ;P
As for Minorin, there's nothing really "weird" about her, she acts crazy, ironically, to not get attention. She basically uses it as a guise and a face to put up for the public and those around her. It's why you see her getting so upset over her relationship with Taiga and Ryuji, not to mention the handful of scenes where Ami is attempting to goad her. In reality, she's actually a rather dark and fairly depressing character. I sense a fair bit of self-loathing in her.
Could it be that Ami's attracted to Ryuuji primarily/intrinsically/partly because he's basically indifferent to her? Like how popular kids are fascinated by people outside their sphere of influence (or something like that).
Someone said a while ago that while Ami is very good at gauging emotions and dispensing perspective per se, it kinda detaches her from the in-the-moment-mentality of those around her, the latter being typical teenagers. Minorin once commented she was like an adult in that sense.
Thus, Ryuji is probably least suited to her because their mentalilties are too different, him being a typical kid fumbling through adolescence and her adopting a more cynical approach.
Makes me wonder what she really sees in that clumsy block of wood. =/

but but, don't u hate when people forward, so un original D: ! lol
yeah thats pretty much my exact thoughts, when you catch her in her
deep moments she does seem quite depressed and alone. She acts
like she has no one to call her own even though Taiga is always by
her side. I really want to know more about her.

though I'm a big fan of Taiga~
actually I love to see Taiga's blushing face when she meets Kitamura,, but it doesn't appear anymore ..
Kitamura seems rather out of the picture for the
pairing now, Taiga really doesn't seem like she look
at him the same way anymore, the fact she can clearly
have conversations with him without the stuttering
proves its more of a friend thing now :)) !
I can be satisfied with either,RyuujiXTaiga or RyuujiXAmi.

Ami does like Ryuuji, well atleast she clued it in to us while they
were in the gym shelter thingy. That made me think.
You know if you think about it, no one can really compare to
Ryuuji, but we really haven't seen that many sides of him either.
I wonder if they will reveal some other deeper or more passionate
side of Ryuuji, he seems so clueless all of the time.
jonja said: RyuujixMinorin. Taiga isen't so bad either but it's to obvious. And Ami can be a bitch and i never relly liked her.
See what i think about Ami is that she has a model mentality
because she is one, but out of all the girls she is the smartest.
She is a nice person even though she doesn't like to show it
because it makes her seem vulnerable.
omfg, if he ends up with Taiga, ima be kinda mad ><
because it'll be like everyother anime.
I'm extremely supportive of RyuujixTaiga but I would not have minded AmixRyuuji or AmixKitamura, or AmixHaruta-chan. To be honest, I wouldn't have minded if all the women were Ami and she got all the guys.
If this show ends up taiga/ryuuji I'll murder an infant.
I also hate that for the entire show hes practically be the replacement for her father, a its just wrong to like wanna date your date, so in episode 23 they throw in the whole, "oh btw, its more like taiga is his mom." its horrible. the shows score is gonna plummet if they end up together, which is what its looking like more and more.
just like most fans, I want a Ryuuji/Minori or Ami ending. hell, i prefer ryuuji being alone than being with Taiga, that relationship is just wrong.
when i saw the first ep i thought it was going to be Taiga x Ryuuji but i hope its Minori x Taiga to me that how it should be but i know how anime gose most the time so it will more than likely be Taiga x Ryuuji
I think it's interesting that many think that if it does go TaigaXRyuuji is an automatic "omg cliché!! I now hate this anime for being like everything else!!11!" when I think that with the way they're approaching the relationship to be rather different than what most anime would have done. We watched them get to know each other, hate each other, become friends and slowly(like many relationships) they grew to love each other. I personally never liked love that was based on crushes...especially since I notice in anime these crushes tend to be the type where the person(this case being Ryuuji) doesn't fully know their crush (Minori). How can anyone really "love" someone they basically don't know, so I feel iffy about RyuujiXMinori due to this fact. Minori certainly does love Ryuuji, but this was AFTER getting to know him, just as the other females have. To sum that up, I'm for a TaigaXRyuuji pairing.
As for anime OSTs...FLCL overall is my favorite, though I do enjoy random songs from many of the others(Death Note gave me my love for Maximum the Hormone with it's What's Up People?! and who could forget the addictive Pudding song from NHK).

im sure i'll get a lot of crap for saying this, but I think that Ryuuji and Taiga don't go well together. shes leagues younger than him in terms of their mental age. I pretty much see it as pedophilia. Basically, I see a Ryuuji Taiga ending as an ending made for 30 yr old men who live in their parents basement, collect dolls, and breath out of their mouth.

You basically have the same opinion as me XD
Taiga X Ryuuji is defiantly my favorite, but Ami X Anyone is awesome as well lol.
High-Five...^_^...it seems we're a rare breed here though.

I see Toradora! as the story of two misunderstood people trying to both find someone to loves and accepts them. At the beginning of the animé, both characters express their wish for that to happen, and during the light pole scene they even reveal their wish to each other.
As Taiga and Ryuuji live together, they really do start to understand each other. Taiga finds out that Ryuuji is pretty harmless, emotionally indecisive and clueless, but really caring and helpful. Ryuuji, in turn, finds out that Taiga is actually quite scared and confused, helpless in taking care of herself, but that she tries very hard for the people she cares about.
Throughout the series, it becomes evident that Taiga and Ryuuji accept and care for each other.
For one, they are comfortable around each other. Neither Taiga nor Ryuuji care about or act on the other's reputation. They are able to live together normally - almost like a family. (Although this may not be ideal for a dating relationship, it does show that their relationship is more mature than most. By comparison, Taiga would not be able to live normally with Kitamura, nor likewise with Ryuuji and Minori.) They like each other, as in when nothing is happening, they will naturally gravitate towards each other to talk or to hang out. And last of all, Taiga and Ryuuji are equals, not only in their views of each other, but also in their roles in the relationship. Ryuuji is able to support Taiga physically, through cleaning, cooking, and taking care of her, while Taiga is able to support Ryuuji emotionally, since Ryuuji seems unable to act on his emotions.
Of course, they both care a great deal about each other - even to the point of self-sacrifice. Taiga, realizing her emotions for Ryuuji, suppresses them with a great deal of pain so that he can be happy with Minori, while Ryuuji is willing to forsake his own safety to save Taiga after she fell down the hill.
We see that Ryuuji and Taiga have developed a deeper relationship with each other than with any other character in the series. Not only do they accept and care about each other, they also comfortable and like to be around the other. In addition, their relationship is a healthy one, not one in which one side views the other side as better or higher, but one in which they are both equals, and complementary - both being able to help the other with their weaknesses. Nearing the end of the series, we see that both Taiga and Ryuuji's wishes have been fulfilled - they both have found that special someone who loves and accepts them. If the series ends in any way other than both of them being together, much of the meaning in their story would be lost.
It's most likely going to be Ryuuji x Taiga !
from that ending. Taiga really loves Ryuuji, but it's
definitely on what Ryuuji will do to take responsiblity.
The next episode is named; Confession.
