This is my list http://myanimelist.net/animelist/Jack7771 could i get some recommendations based of my 9's and 10's i have watched alot of series recently but i haven't seen an anime i would give a 9 or 10 for a long time. I am fine with any genre or age rating, but please do no recommend me series that are on my list. I would be preferable towards newer animation although i do not mind older as long as its 1996+. Thanks in advance Jack. (Could i get a brief description of an anime if you recommend please, like what you liked about it etc but without spoilers!.)

Edit - If you guys know any weird or unusual anime series that were good please recommend them me too.

So, heres go some that i didnt find on ur list,

Rurouni Kenshin - japanese samurai era, has super action/ fighting scenes + history component of the Meiji era, + a bit of romance + good character development, and just a little bit of comedy to top it off.i gave it a 10.

Samurai 7 - same style of samurai / historical info / character morales , except its a whole new world , in a distant future. Story is a tiny wee bit tragic.Personal relations are great.

Great Teacher Onizuka - Really good if ur into good comedy, but also has a deeper touch when it comes to character life's problems, really down to earth and enjoyable plot.

Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumyia - rom/com setting with a bit of fantasy and a nice relationship based touch.

Robotics;Notes - has some references to Steins;Gate, in the form of characters appearances and such, enjoyable, not as good as steins;gate tho.

Evangelion - Classic Mecha

Cowboy Bebop - Oldschool cowboy US movie style, except its a space cowboy setting, the characters are really, humane, with their pettyness and egotism and such.

Actually the story is vastly different. I think the only portion the 2 have in common is the beginning episodes.

I personally was shocked. FMA is one of my favorite anime of all time. Then I watched FMAB and was presently surprised to see how different it was and I even enjoyed it more then the original. I was shocked they could make such a great series even better.

They not only changed the story, but they changed a lot of the fundamental rules of alchemy from the original.

The first 20 or so episodes of FMA are similar to the first 12 episode of FMAB, after that they are completely different.

Added Samurai 7 to my PTW list. I watched the first 10 episodes or so of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumyia but i just found it really boring and dull? strange because this show has really high ratings and there's not many anime series that i have dropped. Thanks for recommendations.

Well, its probably cause those first eps the story is a complete chaos and nothing makes real sense, but then after a while all the dots get connected nicely, imo that is. The only part i found was terribly dull was in the second season's final eps, but i wont tell why :P
Anyway, if u pick some 8-10's from my list, since we have high compat, you cant go wrong ;) Imma be picking some up from ur list aswell hehe

+1 on Psycho Pass and darker than black btw

Im watching Psycho Pass atm im on episode 10 good so far. I was also thinking of watching Hellsing Ultimate but would i need to watch the original Hellsing to understand whats going on in Hellsing Ultimate or will i be fine just watching the OVA series? I have already seen Seirei no Moribito too.

I've only watched 3 episodes of FMAB, and the original handles the beginning SO MUCH BETTER. After watching the first 3 episodes, I was at my wits end at how much it pales in comparison (I hear Brotherhood gets better though).
In any case, watch the original. It's an absolute anime gem in my book.
