| Are we getting into that holiday spirit soon? Well, people around me are, and it seems we're all talking about video games and electronic devices we can buy on the unofficial holiday "Black Friday". Unofficial, because a whole mess of people still have work that day. But still, we end up celebrating "Black Friday" by buying things. Holiday gifts and things for ourselves, and most of the time, they're useless. Let me elaborate. You go to a store and you buy something that you've wanted for a while, or that you saw on the shelf and you now want. It goes both ways. After the first day of purchase (or within a couple days), you stop using it. Do you have anything of that sort? Take me, for example. It used to be, every Black Friday, I would buy a couple things for myself: box after box of Nike SB's and Supra's, brand-name clothes that hit the discount rack (rarely ever, though, since the clothes are kinda whack anyways), and electronics, depending on what I want the most at the time (and last year, that ended up being a new 360). Of all the things on that list, the only thing I still use is the xBox 360. Everything else I've only worn three times at most or never worn at all. Useless stuff, in the sense that you buy it and never touch it after that. I'm pretty sure most if not all of you have useless things, and while I'm not wondering if anybody will stop buying useless things (we usually don't), I do wonder what useless things you've racked up over the years, the most recent useless thing you've bought, or the worst useless thing you currently have. |

| In a sense I'd say yes... Every year on Black Friday I stock up on the new Hguc Gundam model kits regardless of the model itself and only end up sprucing up a handful of my favorites. Most cases I just snap em together out of the box, fill in the panel lines, and sand off the nubs. I wouldn't call em particularly useless though, they look great on display, just not as great as say a diorama you'd put days worth of work into. Outside of that, probably not. Though I did get an Ipod on Black Friday 6 years ago that I haven't used in the past 3 or 4. I can't really afford to waste money on other things. |
