| Uzumaki has some really disturbing psychological themes, and it's gory in a way that's not exactly bloody. Just grotesque, I guess. And it's super creepy. |
| Of most of them I have watched the Anime, I know Manga is usually better, but is there even enough of a difference to read the Manga? With this genre, the interesting part is that you don't know what's going to happen, so I dunno if it's worth it. (Feel free to check my Anime list, but it might be better to use the search function.) I read Uzumaki. |

| Well, if you're referring to Gantz, Berserk and Elfen Lied anime, none of them are close to adapting the entire story. Berserk adapted 1/3 of the manga, Gantz adapted less than 1/4, and Elfen Lied was just an absolute disaster as an anime. |

| I second all of the Itou Junji recs. His stuff is pretty messed up. Uzumaki was alright, but I prefer to read the Kyoufu Manga Collection anthologies of his since it's really no commitment. Also, don't forget to check out Kago Shintarou's stuff --it's probably the single most disturbing stuff I've seen in manga. And they're short too. |
