As for Yozakura Quartet, I'll probably take down the Korean Otaku link once a group begins to release it as a full video file, but for now that's a good link to have. Thank you! I probably wouldn't have stumbled across it.

This thread serves a similar purpose as the Fansub Wiki page, and we link to it, but there are some key differences. Ours is alphabetized to help people find their shows quickly. We provide links to fansub groups, provided they have websites. In order to make things tidy, we do not include planned or rumored groups. Essentially, this thread is a cleaned and refined version of the Fansub Wiki page. It doesn't have as much information, but it's a lot more convenient.

I was planning on not subbing the series anymore when a group decides to release a video file as well. Only am doing this as a service for people that wanted to see the series because fansub wiki didn't have any confirmed subbers of the series :D

As for the .smi file, I can't really support the bandwidth of seeding a 150-200mb file and couldn't really think of a ton of options. For people that do not know how to use it, download a raw of the series, figure out if it is a sponsored of non-sponsored version of the anime and download the corresponding sub file. After that, rename the subtitle file the same name as the raw and you can watch the series with the subtitles.

If you have any questions, feel free to message me

...It's a real, live fansubber! =O

Very, very understandable... being the only subber for an anime would be rather taxing for bandwidth... a torrent would take less, but, well, I don't know the ins and outs of setting them up, and I'm not sure I'd want to try for a short-term project.

Thanks for doing this! Even if it's only temporary, we appreciate your efforts in holding us over!

I swear some people on the internet have a steel pole stuck up their... whatever. I was merely suggesting an alternate site, and it does not bother me in any way that this topic exists. Sorry if I offended you or anyone else with my suggestion.

=.=;;

Also, AnimeYoshi may be subbing Yozakura Quartet, seeing as there haven't been any releases from other groups. We haven't confirmed anything yet, but I'm translating episode one at the moment so if you guys wait for a bit we might start releasing Yozakura Quartet. =P

huh? There's no reason to do that.

Downloading script files is a perfectly acceptable way of fansubbing an anime. In fact, it's a much superior way of fansubbing, in my opinion. If that site continues to do regular releases, keep it there.

Don't worry, dude, it was just a miscommunication. Intentions don't always carry over well across the internet. She read, "$@%$ you and your inferior club," which is not what you were trying to say. Anyhow, no harm done, just a miscommunication.
I'll keep my eye out for your release! AnimeYoshi is a quality group, so I'll probably use you guys if you do.

I know that they're a valid way of fansubbing, but I wouldn't say that it's a superior method at all, at least not since the spread of imbedded softsubs. Especially if you plan on archiving the work... it looks cluttered. At any rate, though, if we were to start including .smi files, we'd have to start including raws, too, which would get a little excessive. That, and Korean Otaku just said himself above that he probably wouldn't continue once the series was picked up.
