Edit: Wait, which club is this?

Its a graphic design club, where I make custom graphics and other stuff. In the past it was a card club, but because I had to wait 7 months to get my pc fixed, I'm a little rusty on my photoshop skills and the need to create original stuff and not rip from fanart that most other cardmakers do.

Link? If it's a Kokoro Connect layout, it's relevant to this thread.

It's not underrated. It got a good score. It got a good ranking.

SAO is all hype.

MAL rankings are usually not too good and doesn't showcase a series' quality.

Please.
I have my own anime blog. It's called Anime Viking. Hope you'll you read it!

I think the reason it was so underrated is because the first episode wasn't all that great and most people dropped and rated it right there and then.

The score has been rising pretty fast over the past few days. Don't expect it to be underrated for too much longer. I remember the days when this was 7.5 or something, but look at it now.

There was a time Steins;Gate was 7.5 too, you know.

It' not underrated.
Basically the boost it got from 7.5 to 8 came from ep 5 and I expect it to rise more
The previous episodes quality are pretty close with the 7.5 score
Note: I don't like the term overrated or underrated actually. You have no right to tell that your taste is better than the others especially judge an anime overrated. And usually people just call it overrated because it's overhyped
And I prefer not comparing it to SAO, because they are very different

Don't compare KC to SAO. SAO is just a Bleach rip-off.

I actually think it's my favorite currently airing anime now (not that I'm following a lot, though)

This thread is now the Kokoro Connect Appreciation Thread. By Appreciation, I also mean Promotion. So go recommend this for other anime if it makes sense.

The synopsis issue has been resolved, and I think what we currently have is good enough for now. The minor issue with it as it is is that the body-swapping arc has already ended, and we're only 5 episodes in out of a projected 17. Thus, it might still need a couple minor edits, but I'm content with leaving it as it is until we have a clear sense of the entire series' progression, i.e. until completion.

Current synopsis:
The five members of the Cultural Research Club - Taichi Yaegashi, Iori Nagase, Himeko Inaba, Yui Kiriyama, and Yoshifumi Aoki - encounter a bizarre phenomenon one day when Aoki and Yui switch bodies without warning. The same begins to happen to the other club members, throwing their daily lives into disarray.

At first the five students find some amusement amidst the confusion, but this unwarranted connection also exposes the painful scars hidden within their hearts. As their calm lives are shattered, the relationships between the five students also begin to change...

I do like how the body swapping has been portrayed but honestly I feel that under-rated isn't something I'd use to describe Kokoro Connect. *coughChihayafurucough* It's nice to see threads like these, but there are so many other series that really needs this kind of attention.

But the animation in this show is just ugly, IMO. Everything looks really badly animated, so many derp faces and the like. I do like how apparently this show is going to be 15 episodes long which is different but from looking at Kokoro's official website they're releasing the series by arc. "Hito Random" was these five episodes, so the next arc starts on episode 6 and so on.

It's underrated because its rating is the same as K-ON's. Q.E.D.

I'm glad that Kokoro Connect's Ranking/Score is going up every time I check the page. Notice that I HAVE written a review for Kokoro Connect and not for SAO.

I will admit, SAO also has a brilliant story... but having read 7 of the novels AND having watched the aired episodes so far... but I think that SAO is overrated (I mean, just look at the light novel ratings...) There already exists the bias that the SAO TV series will be just as good as the novels. But honestly, there are other works out there; I think Kokoro Connect has an ingenious story and that despite the difference in how much detail goes into art (I swear the anime industry is pouring all the funding they have into animating SAO), Kokoro Connect does not lose to any show out there.

Of course, I also think that the casting is golden, platinum, whatever- what other show can you see where one seiyuu captures five different characters within a 20-minute time frame? I'm not trying to bash Sword Art Online- but you really gotta hand it to Kokoro Connect for its valiant efforts.

Yes, I agree that the cast has done an amazing job. I'm platinum happy about it.

Recommend for Hyouka, pretty please?

SWO is overrated because the Light Novel is translated and has gained a huge fanbase WAY before the anime(compare the number of people comparing it to the LN). The target audience will definitely like it(action+harem). Novel fans want the side stories to be included and those only watch the anime find the side stories a waste of time.

But Kokoro Connect looks like a harem but is not a harem.
The K-ON art and the premise make it appear to be a romance school life slice of life harem ecchi with 1 lead guy, his harem and a side kick.

Kokoro Connect is underrated because people who saw the art got disappointed that the story is nothing like K-ON.
K-ON haters avoid this because they thought it will be something like K-ON.

How underrated or overrated it is will have to see people reaction to the 2nd arc.

The synopsis has been changed back to the crappy Sentai Filmworks one we had before... why was it changed?

Sentai's isn't showing up for me.

If anything, it was changed back. Thankfully. Also glad to see all the recommendations between this and Hyouka.

It's been changed back, yeah. I think someone keeps trying to change it back to the Sentai Filmworks one for some reason...

It'll be good if we could get one more recommendation between this and Hyouka. Then it'll actually make it onto the Hyouka page without having to click on "More recommendations".

To the OP,

While I'm all for fans promoting shows they enjoy, I do think that you're tainting the purpose of your thread by comparing KC to SAO. It seems to me that your issue is more about the latter being "overrated" than it is about the former being underrated. KC is in a good spot right now in the rankings and in my humble opinion, I don't think it warrants being any higher. Heck you even have it listed as an 8 which is lower than it's global rating (of course I realize that rating probably wasn't that high when you started this thread, yet you're still campaigning so I assume you want it higher).

If you use an "overrated" show such as SAO as a benchmark for your campaign then you're basically shooting to make KC, which is a decent enough show but nothing spectacular, overrated in the process.
