Last week, Funimation exercised a power-of-attorney agreement to remove online fansubbed videos of Monochrome Factor, Nabari no Ou, and Katekyo Hitman Reborn! (pictured at right) on behalf of d-rights, the Japanese production company of these anime titles. Funimation and d-rights' agreement also covers Bamboo Blade and El Cazador de la Bruja

This is epic failure on Funimation's part. :( I wanted to watch Hitman Reborn! pretty soon.
I'm back.

Well, I guess I should be glad I've been watching the raws (of Monochrome Factor). And hope for a quick licensing and DVD release.

But yes, it's sad to have the fansubs poof without evidence of a future U.S. release. :(

Funimation is just doing this for no reason; they haven't even licensed them yet and I have a suspicion that they may not. Once again Funimation is slapping the anime fanbase around to protect the "interests" of a moronic jap studio that doesn't know shit about fansubs and the R1 industry. Funimation have clearly made the choice to alienate the more hardcore anime fanbase and soley market shounen drivel to cartoon-network narutards.

Someone tell me what this achieves, other than resentment to Funimation. Sending out C&D notices to licensed anime is one thing, but being the bitch of studios for some principled quest for faux justiceis just stupid.

Okay you know what this does, it puts Funi on good terms with the Japanese makers to make it more likely to license stuff from them later.

Romeo X Juliet had this happen and it was licensed eventually, don't be too mad, you are all watching this stuff illegally on a technicality so Funi pulls them on one, it is all fair.

Anyway I already saw Bamboo Blade :p
