Not so much the comedy/kiddy aspect of it (which i liked), but the ability to use elemental powers.
Somewhat similar to Kaze no stigma. Kaze no stigma was good for the first half, but the second half was meh.

I remember watching Witch hunter robin on adult swim a long time ago (1 episode) and it seemed similar to this, but i wasn't sure. If anyone could clarify it would be nice, thanks

One Piece-lots of elemental powers later into the story. I saw your on episodr 22, trust me the series gets a lot better, atleast try it until the arlong arc, I don't see how it could be lower score than what you ranked Naruto

Fairy Tail- Although I don't like this anime and it feels like a One Piece/Rave clone its about magic, and the main character has fire magic

Also try Katemyo Hitman Reborn, some awesome fight scenes although I'd skip the first 20 episodes, it was like fail gag anime although introduced the characters

Lots of shounens have elemental magics so check them out

Elemental powers is literally the most overused type of fighting in fiction. Pretty much every fighting series will have it in some way. However, Avatar ripped off Dragonball and Naruto the most, so try them.

You could try Juuni Kokuki for the fantasy-adventure aspect.

I think Kaze no Stigma comes pretty close, since the main lead is banned from the fire clan and becomes an "airbender" instead. There is more magic too it, but the 4 elements are dominant.

if you're willing to give it a try, I HIGHLY recommend the manga, it gets really good.. I've read it a long time ago but I'm quiet fond of it myself - and yes, there is something like that or very similar to it.. (reminds me I really need to re-read it xD)

Hahaha, fail. My fault for skipping the topic and just posting after reading the title.

Hmm, you've already seen Fullmetal Alchemist...what else is there...

Well, not anime, but Wakfu, Amalia is able to do lots of plant stuff (most similar to FMA style I'd say)
Also not anime, I remember elemental stuff all over Xiaolin Showdown.
Ben 10 has it on certain DNAliens too come to think of it. Diamond guy can put crystals most anywhere it seems.

Basilisk might work, nothing anywhere near to "bending", but interesting superpowers abound and the one guy can like, melt into rock, wood, any surface he wants.

Pretear, the knights can generally control their given element, if the main uses them for her magical girl combination, she gets a decent amount of control over them too. But it's not really shown as much as it is being all awesome and stuff in Avatar.

These might be a bit far-fetched, but....
Katekyo Hitman Reborn-later on each guardian has there own "flame" and each one has an element
Fairy Tail-there are different elemental mages
Flame Of Recca-there are wind and fire users and maybe more, but i didn't finish
