| Essentially yes. Does it ruin the plot by being obnoxious? Not in the slightest. Does it advance the plot in a meaningful way? At times yes, at times no. |

| Like what others have said above, there is romance. There are a number of pairings in the series, past and present included; some end, and some begin later in the series. Especially in the sequel, Gundam SEED Destiny, there are implied pairings, or individuals who do have the romantic potential together. The characters’ relationships or feelings for each other, aren’t always clearly stated, which can bring rich discussions. :) I know I’m replying 6 years later, so you may have already watched the series to know what I’m talking about. xD I hope my response is helpful to those who have the same question as you! The spoiler button contains a list of pairings from the first season. I specified the past and present pairings. I included the implied or not-clearly-stated/have-potential couples underneath “present.” I excluded the parents/married individuals. |

| Yes, it actually has a lot of Romance in it. Doesn't destroy the main focus on the Story but the Romance is pretty cute and likeable. Some Gundam shows have a little bit Romance in it. |
