I love CG anime; even CG meets traditional art anime.

I've watched:
1.Appleseed
2.Appleseed Ex Machina
3.Vexille
4.Karas
5.Ghost in the Shell
6.Ghost in the Shell:Innocence
7.Final Fantasy:Spirits Within
8.Final Fantasy:Advent Children

Any suggestions [preferably action-oriented but...]

Thank you.

MS IGLOO is a Gundam show (although it doesn't actually feature any Gundams) done in CG.

Yukikaze (full CG, apparently?), Macross Zero (substantial combat CG) and Macross Plus (not heavy CG, but pushed boundaries in its time) for an epic air combat OVA trifecta? Also seconding Astaroth's IGLOO suggestion, though I thought the CG made IGLOO's characters look really weird.

Also the Pailsen Files?

And for bad CG, you can't get much better than Demonbane.

. . . for some reason, all but one of those recommendations were mecha. I apologise if that's not to your taste.

Yes odd, but interesting imo. But anyway it was done in all CG, so I thought I'd recommend it and it might spark agphoenix's interest.

hmmm, Last Exile has yet to be mentioned . . .

I didn't care as much for the CG in IGLOO (as said, the characters look a bit . . . off), but the concept and the rest of the execution were awesome. If you can embrace the idea of focusing on politically canned prototype weapons, and have some knowledge of Gundam, go for it.

Thank you very much...all of you.

You're right Leuconoe, mecha isn't really my cup of tea, but you have no need to apologize! Which one of those isn't mecha btw?

ErwinJA: Yeah, I started watching 'Last Exile,' and it did actually look really good. The story didn't pick up much, even after 2 episodes. [I thought] Oh well, thanks anyway.

Yukikaze is not mecha. Futuristic (and somewhat odd looking) aircraft though.
MS IGLOO, Macross Plus, and to a lesser degree, Macross Zero, are ones I would call semi-mecha. They're all side stories for mecha series, so the mecha are in them, but they focus on other aspects mostly. Thus, the mecha aren't really center stage for a good portion of them. And for the Macross ones, they're still straight up dogfighting quite a bit.
