I've heard about new novel, published by Tokyo Pop, based on Gankutsuou, but I don't have really any information about it? Maybe one of you has heard about publishing of this novel in United States?

I assume you mean graphic novel....

I started reading it, but I couldn't stand it. It was more like reading a storyboard draft of the anime. There were some differences, but the art was horrific, and the story was the same as the except for have slightly different perspectives, but none of it was really interesting.

Just stick with the anime.

I was passing through Books-A-Million the other day and saw it on the shelf. I thought, "Oh cool! Now I can finally see the real story!" But then I pulled it off the shelf and noticed that it was about as thick, albeit shorter, than my Narnia collection book. >.> It was huge. I still want to read it, don't get me wrong. I have no idea why I saw it there, but it was. You should try looking around now. ^^

Trust me on this: once you start reading, with Gankutsuou still very much on the brain, you won't be able to put it down. The page count is intimidating, and I'll confess to having been conflicted as to whether to read it myself to begin with, but each and every page added so much to what Gankutsuou had started that I found myself still reading it at 6 AM, for nights/mornings on end. Gankutsuou making me familiar with the characters in advance helped out a lot.

As for the manga, it's atrocious. I had to drop it after the first volume. There's no way they could even fit the whole of the anime into three volumes, and the art was so bad that it looked like actual storyboards from the anime had been re-used, at times.
