I wonder exactly why Kurisu is so upset about it? I know she's a genius, and so seeing a noob create a time machine-like thing must be upsetting, but couldn't she just use this to help further her research or whatever?

Kurisu was studying the concept of time travel, probably for months or years, and she came to the conclusion that it is impossible, then out of nowhere a "crazy guy" comes declaring that he has a time machine. Basically it means that what she worked for was for nothing. She's having a hard time dealing with this, with based on her background it is somewhat understandable.
