The idea that everything we do in life, good or bad will eventually come back to us.

i learn about just world bias long time ago and they say it makes people prone to victim blaming because it means "people get what they deserve always"

Lmao of course not

Just look around - many people who are kind and polite and dont harm anyone often live in poverty and die in poverty

And many bad people live in luxury, drive expensive cars and all that

Im not a leftist and all that but i see this situation too often

So there is no karma

Many bad people will live rich and happy lives and nothing bad will happen to them

@deg Victim blaming assumes there is a victim, personally I don't believe anyone is a victim.

However this doesn't mean I necessarily blame them, but we are resposible for our choices and the consequences of those choices.

It's a nice idea but nah. My mother was the most kind and helpful person I've ever known and she never got anything in return other than being made a doormat for people walk all over.

@x_scolopendra_x

but how do you know? Do you actually live those lives or see and interact with those people in your day to day life? Or is it based on what the media portrays?

@RushingSugar This is often the case with popular people, like some politicians and presidents

I hope you dont seriously think they live luxury life in their mansions during the day and cry into their pillows at night?
Lol no one does that, money almost always guarantees happiness

Look for example at the stories of many dictators and their subordinates - they lived in luxury while killing their own people

Or many gangsters - well yes many were killed in the end, but they lived 5, 10 or 15 years in luxury
Thats better than working your whole life at a job you hate i think

And yes i personally know a lot of people who are completely bad people and they literally have tons of money and a great life
And nothing could change it

Seriously its literally everywhere

I sometimes even wonder if karma works the other way - the better you are as a person the worse your life is.....

I believe what you put into the world has a way of circling back, sooner or later.

The only karma I believe in is that going sleep late actually will cause me bad feelings tomorrow😐😐.

Jokes aside, no, there's no karma. Awful people take higher places and pretend they care for commoners. Good people try their best but stay unseen or even suffer much.

Life is cruel. There's nothing good in it. Soft-minded people just want to believe everything would be paid later.

You can't dissociate karma a concept from hinduism/buddhism from saṃsāra and moksha, which is sadly often done when importing a foreign word.

saṃsāra : cycle of lives, deaths and rebirths
moksha / nirvāna: liberation from the saṃsāra / illumination by attaining Buddha

In eastern philosophies and spiritualities, karma doesn't retribute, we reward or punish ourselves by being in harmony with nature and cosmos, or acting against this harmony.

@Zarutaku Life is fair imo, you get back what you put out, life is a mirror, if you don't like the reflection, that's not the mirrors fault, you need to fix you.

Based on what I've seen. I think Karma is subjective. People value different things in others.

Though ultimately I think Karma is what the world reflects back onto us.

For example, I've had phases where I was depressed and dressed like a slob, lived like a slob, lacked grooming and was very bitter. When I went out, the world reflected back negatively.
When I started trying again, groomed myself, dressed myself, put in effort, and was a happier person, the world reflected back positively.

I've seen it many times the idea that trying doesn't amount to anything and to just swallow the blackpill. But what I've actually experienced is that by accepting that idea, that world becomes reality. When I rejected these ideas, is when my life started improving. 🤷‍♂️ Dunno though. All I can speak of are my lived experiences and I really do believe reality is what we make of it.

@RushingSugar Yeah, I think if we just ignore what's happening on the other side of the world and just focus on our own life experience, we'll see karma is real.
