I don't see HOW they can cut it. It's gotta just be pushed out of order into s3. I hope.
I noticed we weren't seeing as much of Kodachi as we should, but I don't care too much about that.
The Love Pill arc is a little disappointing bc I feel like establishing the history between Cologne & Happosai is indeed important, but I guess it's not THAT critical.
The other cut arcs & gags are sooo minor, I couldn't really care less. The toned down nudity & omission of underage drinking is just par for the course. It really is to be expected & I can't say it's that big of a deal. Yeah, for an ecchi series, it's a little bland with the censorship, but oh well.
We are NOT, however, missing out bc of toned down racism, predatory groping, & homophobia. I guess letting people know those things are in the source material is fine, but acting like the racism was charming is nonsense. Plus, they've BARELY toned that down with characters like the Jusenkyou Guide still being very much a caricature.
The change to logos on clothes & such saying "CHINA" is a little odd, but overall, it's clear they're trying to right some of the wrongs of the source. Takahashi has NEVER been perfect, but she's also GROWN since she published a lot of that stuff. I expect a good deal of the changes have been her influence. Stuff that did fly in the 80s & 90s doesn't fly now, nor should most of it, tbh.
I've been glad to see a lot of the changes & think the core goal of them has been RESPECT, above all.
This is a valuable guide for newcomers & older fans who want to brush up, but quite a bit feels like complaints about POSITIVE changes implemented with this adaptation. (I do see with your last comment here that this wasn't your intent. I'm not trying to dig into you here & I sincerely hope what I've had to say here is constructive, rather than argumentative.)
Thank you for sharing though & I do hope you're able to keep updating this with further seasons. I really do appreciate it.
