Crunchyroll has announced it will stream 3rd season this time.

I do not know why but it might have something to do with Kadokawa shares on Sony last year. Maybe or maybe not, but even though it is 3rd season, Oshi no ko is coming to Crunchyroll.

Hidive’s been dying for a while now, but this feels like the nail in the coffin. Wouldn’t be surprised if they either shut down or merge into a different streaming service in the near future. As a dub fan, I’m hoping Crunchyroll purchases them so we don’t lose all of their dubs to the void.

Crunchyroll brought back the dub casts for Log Horizon, Vinland Saga, and Haikyu when they sniped those licenses from Hidive, so I’d imagine the same will happen with Oshi no Ko. Might be a few recasts, but most should stay the same. And if anything, the dub might be better since Crunchyroll has much better voice directors

As it should be, I'm not paying for HIDIVE for one or two shows when Crunchy and Netflix are already assembling the top ones. Anything other than that is for seas to sail.

...why in the world would we laugh at Hidive going down?

Crunchyroll bought Funimation, and look what they've done so far? took away shows people had purchased, did a bad job providing products that were promised, completely removed the comment section (despite community having helped build them), and all this crap with their subtitles between trying AI and new software causing delays and loss of translation for on screen text.

Less competition is a loss for HiDive, sure, but it's also a big loss for us. And that's even considering the fact that, if we're being honest, HiDive's UI absolutely SUCKS! (They revamped a year or two ago and somehow made it worse??) We (the viewers) are just taking L after L with this consolidation of power.

@WaterMage you're so right. in fact, I think they're more okay failing with the subs BECAUSE they've gotten such a monopoly.

wish animelab was still around and not bought out

they arguably had the best UI, subtitles, and exclusives (opm, fairy tail, death note etc at the time)

Changing voice actors always sucks, hearing different person just throws everything off. I hope most if not all the voice actors stay the same.

Yes, it is on Netflix in many regions, including the United States. Netflix also streams anime that Crunchyroll and Hidive streams because it is a platform that isn’t entirely exclusive on all anime like One Piece. There will likely be chance for 3rd season to also stream on Netflix as well. The same as some others like Hulu and Amazon Prime as well.

well whatever personally I don't ever want to support or use crunchyroll even then and in future. I have been watching anime in Netflix and been sailing the seas for a long time so it shouldn't be a problem but whatever anime comes in Netflix I do watch it, one piece and Ranma this season
just hoping like last season Netflix airs it weekly on their platform
I really love aka akasaka's works so I don't want to pirate it

Actually the anime is on Netflix. I just made a mistake on research and made on last edit, so the anime is still streaming.

Other platforms will license it. In Germany for example, Prime Video has it and I'm not sure if Netflix has it too
