Sick to death of the red-haired tsundere and the blonde/pink-haired genki girl, that one male MC who always screams every sentence, and the chuuni edgelord who just goes "Huh" at everything. I'm sitting here watching absolute trash because I'm so bored and it's just making me mad.

Please recommend me something where the characters act like fully fledged human beings, with some depth and dimensionality, rather than these pathetic half-baked cookie cutter retards spammed ad-nauseum by the masses of talentless hack writers and mangaka alike. Things in the vein of LoGH, Vinland Saga, Yamato 2199, GiTS, or Cowboy Bebop. Basically, I want shows where there characters feel like they could actually be real people rather than being reduced to the same half a dozen or so two-bit stereotypes we've all seen too many times already.

Don't really care what genre it is, I'll even stoop as low as watching mecha at this point.

@dibindibi As you say, I have a huge PTW list and I don't remember 99% of what I put in there, or what it actually is. I honestly should just delete the whole thing at this point since it no longer serves any practical purpose, and since most of what I have on that list I probably have no interest in anymore anyway. As for LotGH, I am waiting for the next chapter of Die Neue These and I'll go back and finish the old show afterwards. I am caught up as far as the remake has aired in it, it's just not updated.

I will check out the other recommendations though.

have you seen monster? it really good

there is also usagi drop if you like slice of life stuff between parent and child

there is also rakugo shinjuu as a slice of life kind of show

if you like low fantasy medieval stuff i recommend serei no moribito, its pretty grounded in its characters but is a bit weaker in the story

there is also kaiji ultimate survivor which is a bit cartoony but in a way that differs from the usual anime

then there is 91 days which isnt super fleshed out in its characters but has a more grounded atmosphere than most anime
psycho pass is also like that in that it seems more grounded but not super fleshed out in its characters

then there is gunslinger girl and witch hunter robin which are lacking a bit in their story but have a relatively more grounded vibe than average

there is a bunch im probably overlooking or that i havent seen yet but this is what comes to mind first

edit: i see now that you have already seen some of these, you have also seen a crazy amount of anime so its criminal you havent seen monster yet, go watch that right now, its kinda like legend of the galactic heroes in that its slow paced but it remains steadily interesting

Vinland Saga is certainly a great example of that, yeah. After watching something like that, it can be harder to enjoy cookie-cutter trope shows right after. Kinda like eating Taco Bell right after dining at an authentic Mexican restaurant. Here's a list of non-trope shows:

The Apothecary Diaries
Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu
Sweetness & Lightning
The Summer Hikaru Died
To Your Eternity
Fairies Albums
Link Click
The Fire Hunter
Ascendance of a Bookworm
Future Folktales (this one is the most family-friendly, since it was made for kids)
Arte
Barakamon
Banana Fish
Kino's Journey
Natsuyuki Rendezvous
Children of the Whales
Mushishi
Yuri!!! on Ice
Poco's Udon World
Your lie in April (the blonde seems like a genki girl, but her situation is horrid)
The Heroic Legend of Arslan

Wow, I 100% empathize with this struggle and it has made me almost give up on modern anime...

Rather than spam a massive list to you I would say the standouts (apart from those you already mention) would be Mushi-shi and Boogiepop Wa waranai... I only picked these out of my favorites and if you already watched them congrats you have excellent taste (if not- go ahead, modern anime tropes are nowhere to be found)
