[spoiler] MANGA READERS: about the finale for this season...

Today's episode, episode 11, adapted chapters 28-31. With only two episodes left, and each episode adapting about 3-4 chapters, do you think we'll end with:

1. Rintaro's confession at the beach (end of chapter 36)
2. Kaoruko's confession at the summer festival (end of chapter 39)
3. Another scene entirely

I personally hope it'll end with the second option. Ending with Rintaro's confession would make for a better cliffhanger, but I think it'll be weird for Kaoruko's backstory and confession to be a starter for a potential second season. Thoughts from anyone else who's read the manga?

They cut a few scenes from previous chapters from Kaoruko's POV (which included the part where Toki first shows up in the manga). So I think if s2 does get announced, it'll start out with a bit of a briefover from her perspective which would include those cut scenes as well as start off with chapter 40, which I personally would be a great way to start out that sequel season as a full circle deal, tbh.

I actually started reading the manga after where last week’s episode left off, so I missed Toki’s first introduction.

This is also a solid approach though. While I do think it would be most impactful for this season to end with Kaoruko’s confession, I don’t mind her POV being pushed to a sequel season. I always tend to forget that anime adaptations are never truly 1 to 1 with the source material, so the order of scenes can be changed if it seems right.

all I know is that the festival bit is gonna be adapted. don't know if it'll reach Kaoruko's response to his confession though.
his confession on the beach...that might just be it. and the whole festival bit might just be bait, lol.

It's possible to reach the summer fest because the first PV shows the scene from that chapter. don't know tho how much of the summer fest will be covered.

I thought it would end with Rintaro’s confession, but I saw Kaoruko’s Yukata somewhere so they’ll probably go to the summer festival.

The trailers and even the shows intro show Waguri in her kimono, which leads me to believe that this season will end at the festival arc where Rintaro and Waguri officially become a couple.

This could also maybe end up being just the first half of season 1 and we’ll get another 13 episodes for a part 2. A lot of anime nowadays do that.

This makes sense but at the same time I kinda don’t want them to pack too much into the episodes because it’ll probably mean cut content. I wouldn’t necessarily complain either though if they did go with this.
