I think they're trying too hard to create a joke with high originality but end up being not funny.
| @phantomfandom The issue imo is that the gags drag on for way too long. Shorter segments and a snappier writing would have made this a pretty good season. |

| Probably the weakest episode of the season so far imo. The only segments that really worked were the exercise opening and singing mushrooms. And even those were emblematic to a degree of the big problem they all seemed to have: going on too long. I briefly brought this up in the staying in bed segment a few weeks back but that type of humor is really tricky to pull off properly, and for the most part it wasn't here. Multiple times I checked the time out of boredom. This episode also suffered from the "loud is funny" fallacy. Way too much shouting going on in most of the segments. The only thing I can say in this episode's defense is that I did get the sense that there were several cultural references I was missing out on. Maybe a commercial spoof or something? Just a guess on my part, but if that's true then maybe it played better with a home audience. But yeah, this one wasn't great. |
