Hey guys. I just rewatched Your Name for the 9th time. Yeah I know it’s a lot but it never gets old. Every time I watch it I get this amazing feeling I can’t really explain. The overall direction, scene composition, cinematography, VA (both dub and sub), and soundtrack are just too good. I know I’m glazing the movie a lot but it’s truly the definition of a masterpiece.

So, how many times have you guys rewatched it?

Nice to know, everyone! For me personally, I keep rewatching shows and movies because they bring a lot of nostalgia. I want to relive the experience I had six years ago, almost like watching the whole movie all over again lol. I get why some of you only watch it once since watching too many times can make it lose some of that magic. The main reason I watch Your Name so much is the OST. It just slaps so hard every single time.

It’s one of the VERY few films I can keep rewatching. Not that I ever planned to, but it’s always a treat to introduce it to new people, so most of the time I end up rewatching it with them. So I would say around 4-5

I think I’m at 26 times of watching it, and that movie will never get old. The sound track is top tier, especially sparkle. That song’s lyrics hit like a freight train they’re so good

Just once, honestly, I think it's a bit overrated, like, of course it's really good, I love the soundtrack, every character, great animation and it's a very emotional and beautiful story, but I wouldn't call it a masterpiece

Only once, I don’t find pleasure in watching the same thing too many times.
I might go back to them years after the first watch, only if I feel it’s truly necessary.
Honestly the only I think I replayed multiple times were the Call of Duty campaigns, I don’t remember ever rewatching a show or a film.

How do you know you don't find pleasure in rewatching a film or show multiple times if you've never done it before?

Because I actually did rewatch some stuff. I rewatched some things because my memory of them was confused, so I wanted to refresh it.
As a result I didn’t really like the idea of the rewatch, I just the had the feeling of “oh yeah, now I remember why it’s like that”
Tho I might give more space for rewatch in the future, for things that I’m actually interested in and not only for refreshing my memory.

Saw day one in theatres dubbed. My buddy and I talked about it the whole ride home. We stopped the car, bought tickets for the subbed showing in 15 minutes, and then turned around and went right back to the theatre.

I saw it twice again that same week with different friend groups that I dragged out to it.

After that, it's been a slow drip of watching it with people who aren't super into anime that I think would like the film. It's probably added up into the 10+ category for me over the 8 years (!) since the movie released in NA.

2 lol but I do have lots of praise for it not watching it more than 5 times. I still think shinkai nailed the plot for this one I really couldnt predict how the fantasy element worked and it was just GREAT. I also loved the characters and the feelings and emotions shinkai wanted to express in this film personally I really just loved this both tumes watching it 9/10 lovely film

I only watched it once but I don't get it why does everyone hype this anime up so much I though it was only a 7 sure has amazing cinematography and the animation was great but lacked emotional impact for me like it was so hyped. Also half of the movie felt like it was just the prologue before the actual story begins.
