A year or two after the long versions ends, is my take.

atleast another 8-9 years more until the original source material finsihes , the anime is 1 year behind the manga and since it's going to adapt the first saga which means it's not happening that late

@sniperhunter912 I wrote that bad, i meant the last ep of the rework would be one or two years later. I'm not sure, because of netflix, if they drop every episode in one day or make it a weekly, like normal animes. If they drop the whole rework those 300+ episodes in one day, than it would make more sense after the "original" finished, but if they do a weekly release i think it makes more sense that they start dropping new episodes so the last ep of the rework comes a year or two after the "original" ends.

When Wit Studio is done animating the Yaiba remake, which will be at least 48 episodes long in total, and then the One Piece remake episodes getting released a year after the final episode of the Yaiba remake airs is my guess. But there is the possibility that they'll take a break from doing the Yaiba remake after the first season has finished airing and shift their focus onto the One Piece remake and make 24 episodes of that, then go back and work on the second season of the Yaiba remake.

Honestly, I just want the Wit Studio remake to start airing while the original Toei version is still airing. It'll be interesting to see them both air at the same time. I'll honestly be disappointed if the remake only starts airing after the 1999 version finishes. I think that the 1999 version will go on another break soon and do a remaster of the Punk Hazard arc. Then go back to adapting the latest arc, then go on a break and remaster the Dressrosa arc etc.

Summer 2026 is my guess, but it's coming in 2026 for sure. I think they wanna release it along with the live action and time it with some other big stuff in the anime and manga. Season 1 of the live action released during one of the biggest fights ever in the manga and shortly after Gear 5 dropped in the anime. If they are smart, they will take advantage of the big news of the climax of the current manga arc and the anime reaching this arc.

The fact we haven't heard anything until now or got much news since the interview that showed bits and pieces of the studio and the staff at work, makes me think it's gonna be a while. One Piece is a national Icon for Japan. Unless their contract with Netflix has some specific clauses, I'd imagine they would wanna build hype for it and we will get lots of content and exposition like more concept art, promotional art and trailers. I think we'd be very lucky to see it in 2026. I'm hoping for Spring 2027 at the latest.

But who knows? Ultimatly I just want them to not feel pressured by time and produce something they are proud of! It's gonna be a monumental day for One Piece fans and anime as a whole when the first episode(s) drop. And I'm all there for it.

The long version will not end within the next year or two, the current arc of the manga probably won’t end until the end of this year. My guess is the manga will end in 2030 or later

@Fleds123 I don't mean it ends in a year or two, i mean when One piece ends then one or two years afterwards The One piece will end.

@sniperhunter912 It was announced as part of celebrating 25 years of the Toei anime, the whole reason it's going to be made may be because of that too, although by now it's way past 25 years! It's taking too long to release.
