| It's a concept I came up with, because I see it all the time in discussions. "Abiogenesis" was a concept I learned in school, that in the past people believed that life continued to spontaneously generate, the example being that if you let dirty rags and rotten meat somewhere, creatures like mice, flies and scorpions would "spawn" there. That way, "ideological abiogenesis" would be the term for when someone's ideas/conclusions don't come from a clear line of thought, but as a non-sequitur from tangentially related (Or even unrelated) elements it's surrounded with. Hence, whenever you ask to someone who suffers from this to explain their views, they'll start spamming unrelated stuff like it's all part of the same thing. If an idea is a "rat", then the ideas of someone under ideological abiogenesis are a "rat king", therefore talking to one us akin to being a therapist during a session, and at any point there's a risk of falling into gishgallopping and whataboutism. What would be a simpler way of explaining this? Is there another name for it? |
