Even other critic Japanese works about the war, they just vaguely show some shame for "Imperial Japan" actions, but not really talk about the Emperor... and actually, I think WWII works are the only ones I ever saw even mentioning the existence of the Emperor, and just to say Japan surrendered.

I see how practical the taboo they created is, because nobody ever talks about the imperial family, the Japanese people are there quietly paying taxes to support their luxurious life, with more than 40 servants per person, a personal orchestra and all kinds of stupid shit, because of their divine right or whatever. As nobody talks about them, people don't even remember these parasites exist lol
