So around episode 400 if I'm remembering right, there's a filler arc which I think kind of build up for this movie, so my question is if I have to watch this filler arc before watching the movie?

might be a bit off since it was a long time already, but at most you could say it's a prologue at best. tales of badass pirate of how they were notorious back then that they heard about, but at least one piece filler was watchable because the nerf wasn't too obvious.

Shiki is mentioned quite a bit throughout the series and this actually shows who he is. That little east blue filler arc was a prologue for this but I skipped it so I never saw him their.

That filler arc mention some things about the movie, but won't give you anything you won't have just watching the film.

You can watch it if you want, but it is absolutely not necessary at all.

The same for Z and Gold filler arcs.

The filler is absolutely not necessary but I think it does a great job at hinting at some of the themes that will be present in the movie proper. By all means skip the filler as it doesn't really add anything, but looking back on the filler after seeing the movie, I'm glad that I watched it.
