From what I’ve seen he transports Cheng into the photos and can see what Cheng see. I’m prolly wrong:)

It will be explained a bit better in later episodes. I don’t k ow if we will have the whole explanation on why they have these powers, but it’s more specific on who does what. At first I thought it was Lu Guang doing all of the work.

Lu Guang can see what happens in the next 12 hours after a photo is taken. Cheng Xiaoshi can enter any photo at will, BUT he does not know what to expect. If they are to fulfill their client’s request, they must do it in a way that won’t affect the present timeline.

Basically so far, we know that he can see all the events that happened in the next 12 hours after a picture was taken and that picture can be only used once for diving.
Cheng Xiaoshi can dive into a picture for 12 hours as himself but blind as a bat.
With their powers combined, Cheng Xiaoshi can dive into the persons body who took the picture, with Lu Guang being his guide and they can hear each other.

Lu Guang doesn't see all events, but he can see what the person taking the photo can see in the next 12 hours. Or in the case of autonomous cameras, he can see through all cameras on the same network.
