I've only seen about a third of the drama, but from what I have seen I would say that it is better.
Drama adapts I think the first three novels in a linear way, while the anime jumps from book to book almost every episode, so the drama feels less aimless, but still slightly episodic
I would also say the drama is more unique in it's directing, music, acting, and overall style. The anime just feels too clean too the drama and more general.
I also think the characters are more memorable and charismatic in the Drama.
So I think that if you liked the anime you would really enjoy the Drama.

Actually, the Drama adapts vol 1 and 2 chs/cases of vol2, because the drama was from the 2000 and the novel had only 2 vols in that year, this maybe the reason for the drama putting a 2 original eps.
In the anime thouhg, they adapt 2 cases from vol11, 2 cases from vol12, 1 case from vol4, 1 case from vol9, 1 case in 2 eps from vol7, 1 from vol8, 1 from vol6 and 1 in 2 eps from vol1.

The drama is more comedic so it is easier to enjoy, but the overall story is the same, each episode tackles a social issue in Japan (the anime obviously talks about more recent stuff) but yeah i enjoy the drama more than the anime. The characters are better in the drama for me. It is not a prequel or anything to the anime so you can enjoy it whenever
