So how do you figure out what chapter you are on?

Since this is an older series there are no chapter titles so how many chapters are there in each book? at the moment I'm treating each book as a separate chapter but I know there are not 57 volumes but only 14 so again how do you work out how many chapters are in each volume?

Usually there’s a page that separates the chapters. Just use volume count if there isn’t one. I haven’t read the manga yet but I’m currently reading an older shojo series now published from viz and that’s how I’m able to tell.
