Space Adventure Cobra was a scifi series born out of the 80's and it shows. You have a wise-cracking, crackshot, bounty hunter hero who traveled the galaxy looking for adventure with his robotic female copilot. He dazzled every woman that he came across, including some that started out wanting to kill him and he always won the day at the end of the episode. The series was the very definition of 80's cool.

Now, flash forward to 2010 and we've got a new Cobra series. Given the recent trend in anime towards moe/loli and bland genericism, it's easy to worry that they won't pull it off properly. But they did. Cobra the Animation is every bit as 80's as the original series, although it does through out the odd CG here and there.

This is definitely a series for those who pine for the old days when anime just felt more energetic and fun.
