| Mononoke Hime tells the story of a boy who seeks to save himself from the cursed type known as Steel. He goes to a town where Steel is being produced. When he learns of its effects to the life around the town, he learns of the Fairy wolves and the Fairy Girl. The Fairy Girl did not welcome the Steel-cursed boy because she did not think that he would understand the feelings of the fairies. But he needed a cure for his Steel curse, so the fairy girl guides him to meat Xerneas, the deer who grants life to those around him. Unfortunately, there are those who wanted the head of Xerneas, and they succeed doing so thanks to sheer force and the drive of their greed. What they did not know was that when Xerneas was harmed, he would spill the curse of the fairies over the land. Not even the power of Steel could stop him. The fairy curse spread throughout the land, consuming any human too foolish to stand in its way. In a last attempt to save themselves, the fairy girl and steel-cursed boy retrieve Xerneas' head and offer it to him. By doing so, the fairy curse is lifted from the land, and Xerneas becomes peaceful once again. The damage was done, but the humans survived and began to rebuild their homes. But because of their nature, the Fairy girl and the Steel Boy could never be together, but they do promise to see each other again. |
