| @vegetablespirit You could really tell. As soon as the episode started, I immediately checked to see who the episode director was. Hiroyuki Imaishi. Honestly, this filler episode has no right being so good. The animation alone has so much style, even when a lot of the shots were done to save on budget (little animation, the scenes with just camera photos at the beginning). He really knows how to direct on a budget, it's amazing. Goes to show what strong storyboarding can do. I kept thinking "This feels like a missing FLCL episode." Really a treat to watch! |
