| So I stumbled on the topic on another one of my favorite anime sites and I thought it made for an interesting read so I thought I would start it here too. What was the first anime that you watched. Whether it was on TV or otherwise? My own first recollection of watching an anime and "knowing" that it was anime rather than a cartoon would probably be a tie between Star Blazers, UFO Robo Grandizer, GaiKing Legend of Daiku-Maryu and Galaxy Express 999. |

| does pokemon count as an anime? im not sure cuz other than that i dont know what else was after. Also pokemon is im told an anime but it doenst seem like it to me. If it is, then yeah pokemon is my first anime |

| My first anime would be Full Metal Alchemist. (not brotherhood) And the anime that really got me into watching anime was bakemonogatari. |
| Not counting Americanized anime. (Sailor Moon, Pokemon etc) My first real does of Anime was Gundam Wing when it premiered on Toonami. Intact Japanese opening and credit. Got me hooked in from beginning to end. My first Anime series download, would be Love Hina back in 2000. Me, my sister and brother would huddle up to that old CRT monitor and have a good time. Nowadays, we have a full fledged theater room. :D |

| Rama 1/2 and Dragon 1/2 were favorites of the anime club I used to go to in High School. I'm sure if I look around here somewhere I still have the first few episodes on VHS. Never really bothered with Pokimon and couldn't stomach Sailor Moon (althought I have seen every episode thanks in large part to my sister.) |

| The first anime I ever watched when I was younger was Inuyasha, but when I came around to actually watching it frequently, the anime I started with was B Gata H Kei. |
| The 1st anime I ever saw was Dragonball Z. But for some reason, now that I think about it, I think it may have been Sailor Moon. But all I remember from it was every time I watched it, they were all always getting beat up. I don't know, its one of the two. |
| The first anime series I've ever watched are Hokuto no Ken and old Super Robots anime and they are still my favourite ones :D |

| When I was younger, I watched Dragon Ball Z, Digimon (love it!! <3 ), Hamtaro, Yu Gi Oh!... but I was, like, 4 or 5 years old, so I thought they were normal cartoons XD (ok, guys, don't hate me, please :P). But when I found out what they really were, and started watching them again... Death Note was the first on my list :D |
| Ranma 1/2 was my first, though the first time I watched the series I started from somewhere in the middle of the second season, I seriously thought the red haired pig tailed girl and ranma were two different characters. |

| My first anime ever was "Samurai pizza cats" I watched it on TV back in 1999 and fell in love with the art style and the fact it's fucking robotic talking cats! XD The first anime I ever watched on my own (wasn't on TV) was elen lied at age 11. |

| Samurai Pizza Cats there is a title I had not heard in a long time. Just good "silly" entertainment. Maybe I am showing my age but I am surprised that I have not seen either Astroboy or Speed Racer come up on this list yet. Neither was particularly a favorite of mine but they were always on tv. |

| I'm embarrassed to say I don't remember if I have seen that one before it. It looks familiar however there were a lot of those giant robot anime in the late 70s early 80s. |

| The first anime I can remember is probably Voltron. Although I probably watched some before that. My dad and I used to watch all sorts of those shows together. He is probably what got me into anime. I remember Voltron the most though because that was the one he and I always loved to watch together. |

| My official first anime would have to have been "Neon Genesis Evangelion", which I remember watching on Comcast OnDemand when I was a kid. That was my earliest memory, then I got into Rurouni Kenshin and continued to branch out from there. |

| I remember watching random episodes of Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon and Naruto on nickelodeon when I was younger ^_^ but I didnt know they were anime! And when i was in a really random a mood to watch some kids tv shows I remembered avatar: the last airbender (although i know its not anime) I watched all of them and searched up for shows similar, saw naruto, realised what anime was and have been addicted ever since! |
| Yu Yu Hakusho waaaaayyy back when haha. Beyblade too, although I don't remember exactly which one, but that along with the early Yugioh, and Dragonball Z. Thankfully Bleach kick started everything and saved me of endless boredom on rainy days. |
