I don't remember reading this in the manga. Maybe they're tying in things that happen in the raws to the character intros? If anyone has read the raws of Joujuu Senjin Mushibugyou, feel free to let me know.

I didn't read the manga but I don't think it's fillers. At most 5 minutes/ep for each character's story.

The story about the mum of Koikawa was probably filler or canon.. Mitsuki will only appear after the chapter about the map and the flute..

The anime had the chance to know everthing and then process how they wanted to tell the story, the ending arc will either be the summer showdown arc or mushibugyo arc..

I don't think there's any raws out there, I bought the jap raws myself and I follow the chinese scans for the newer chapters which have been AWESOME..

And I'm thinking that this will be an ongoing anime, seeing as how they have so much material to work with in Japan.

depending on which you like, probably all chinese host sites have them..

I doubt it'll be more than 26 episode.. It doesn't really have enough chapters.. Only up to chapter 106, with the current arc yet to end..

OP hints that it'll end either at the summer showdown arc

or after the mushibugyo/mushikari arc.

As for the background story of Hibachi, Koikawa, Tenma, it wasn't told until recently at around chapter 90+ onwards.. But no mention about Koikawa's mother when it was on it though.. My guess is it's probably filler or canon..
