| Bakemonogatari isn't really all that action. There is a lot of talking and dialogue that can take up 1-3 episodes. During when I try to watch the anime, I would usually fall asleep during the dialogue scenes. : Anyways you can try... (I won't say it's good or bad because we probably don't have the same taste) 11eyes- I just finish watching this and it fits your criteria. MC is cool and eventually gets stronger. Romance is a huge factor. Btooom!- Cool MC. Once the girl is introduce, romance will start becoming a element. This romance element will further will later develop the MC into a badass. This is what I current watched so far that fit your criteria. If you ever wish to watch a anime just for it's romance I suggest watching Yosuga no Sora: In Solitude, Where We Are At Least Alone. Although it may be incest, I felt the forbidden love and the hardship they face because of it makes it that more romantic. |

| Bakemonogatari is worth watching. You could make use of this site's search functions though that search functions misses out on certain anime. Tsubasa Chronicle It doesn't have the action as a genre it more of a sub genre, but there is plenty of action in it that i would say its between a main genre and a sub genre in terms of action. Kyoukaisenjou no Horizon Full of action, the first 3 episodes are kinda boring, the director of the anime even said that they were deciding rather or not to adapt the first 3 episodes from the light novel. I personally found it "okay" and the rest was amazing. It does have romance, not much, but Zetman has romance as a genre yet it wasn't much really. Same amount of romance as SAO in this one if you include the second season. Another one which is very similar to SAO that is not found in the search is Druaga no Tou: The Aegis of Uruk also known as Tower of Druaga, very similar to SAO, it doesn't have romance listed as a main genre, but its practically the same amount of romance as SAO. Instead of being trapped in a game, the main character is trying to climb to the top of the tower with a party(kinda like clearing floors). The ending of the first season is not the kind of ending you want but the second season will make a good ending. |

| I found Bakemonogatari to be good. The romance doesn't really take first place, but there is more romance than action. It is a dialogue heavy show about a high school kid who goes around and helps people whom come in contact with the supernatural. It is pretty much a harem, but not the kind where every girl is always around him. The main heroine gets established pretty quickly and they get together pretty fast. Katanagatari does have romance, but it isn't even close to being the main focus of the story. It is an action/adventure story in which romance plays a small role, but helps develop the ending. It isn't the kind of romance that you're looking for either. In the first episode, the heroine comes, tell the hero that she is his, and they go off on an adventure. It is a pretty good show. |

| Summer Wars - It's very simular to SAO and a great movie Angel Beats - i think this one has a great mixture of romance/action/fantasy/drama and will make you want to cry (the good king of cry tho ;P) TTGL - More action then romance (especially the first couple episodes) but what it has is great. |

| Haha you kind of like exactly the same kind of anime as me. So as a welikethesamekindofanime buddy; I'll list the animes I think you'll enjoy even if it doesnt meet the criteria you've set. Chrome Shelled Regios - the main protoganist is a real badass, and romance plays a big enough role to have me satisfied. Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu - Not so big on the romance part, but the coolness of the MC makes up for it. Especially when he looses it. Highschool DxD - Really, really enjoyed this one. Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou - badass male lead, harem Mirai Nikki - Weak male protoganist, but the twisted female makes up for him. Deadman wonderland Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch Nuryaki said: And Btooom , does have a happy ending? Not really happy, but love is found at the end. I'm guessing there will be a season 2. |
| Btooom ends its' first season as a cliffhanger. If you don't like Cliffhangers I suggest you wait till season 2. (which most likely will be out) |
