I am looking for things exactly like Key anime. Something that will make cry, with tiny hints of fantasy and touching themes such as family and friendship. Something that depresses you, but lifts you up.

The thing is, I've seen most Key anime except for Air, which I am well on my way to doing, so please don't recommend that.

Thank you!

I would recommend Bokura Ga Ita: http://myanimelist.net/anime/1222/Bokura_ga_Ita

While it isn't (imo) exactly on par, in terms of tear-inducing, as Clannad (the only Key anime I've seen), it is still really good. It's slice of life romance drama with absolutely no fantasy or supernatural. The story is pretty good, and deals with themes of friendship, but the main focus is the romance between the 2 main characters. It will either make you cry, or very close to it. <-coming from an 18yo guy T.T If you can get past the somewhat strange art, it is a really good series. The soundtrack is one of my favorites too. It stays in high school for the entirety of the anime, but the manga continues when they are adults.

Ano Natus. It's pretty similar to Ano hana, which you seem to have enjoyed. It also has most the requirements you listed.

I would recommend Ano Hana. It's a really great anime, and it even brought a tear to my eye at the end. Damn those onions >.< http://myanimelist.net/anime/9989/Ano_Hi_Mita_Hana_no_Namae_wo_Bokutachi_wa_Mada_Shiranai

I'm in the middle of watching Air - so far so good :) I can see how Clannad became the 'final' version.....

I just finished watching Ano Hana - OMG that made me cry so much and it was a very good anime. I LOVE the ost 'Last Train Home'.....

Anyway, I can recommend 'Grave of the Fireflies' movie and that will definitely make you cry....it's made to make you cry!! Classic movie.
