| Prepare some tissues Also I'd suggest Kanon (2006) It's like an earlier version of Clannad, think its made by the same people also, don't quote me on it though. Very very good story with an emotional roller coaster. |

| I agree that Clannad and Clannad After Story is fantastic but there isn't anything that matches it exactly. There are other good romantic shows like NANA or Toradora but none will be like Clannad. Hope one day a future romance anime can surpass this....I want an awesome romance masterpiece:) |

| Their probably will be more anime like clannad, whether they are better or not will of course be a matter of opinion but I don't think they will stop adapting Key's Visual Novels seeing as they saw so much success from anime like Clannad, Angel Beats, Kanon and Air. (assuming they were successful in Japan too, but could be totally wrong there) Since this is a recommendation thread Gonna say you probably should watch Toradora! or Lamune if your looking for romance. However if you want an emotional anime (personally found it more emotional than After Story) you could try Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai... Also I would like to say that I don't think Clannad was better than Toradora! or vice versa, to be honest I think they are excellent examples of two different types of romance and since they are both so good I can't say one is better than the other. I highly recommend checking out Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai (AnoHana) if you want an impacting anime, honestly don't like Slice of Life anime too much however that series found its way on my top 5 anime of all time, highly recommend. Just realized that there is a new key anime out --> Little Busters! if you already knew about this mah bad but was looking at Key's other works, recognized the title and sure enough it was an anime being released this season. |

No I didn't say Clannad is better than NANA - I said it's not the same as Clannad. No anime is exactly like each other and OP wanted an anime like Clannad :) I loved NANA I thought it was amazing (the story and the cast) - just wished it continued more from the Manga!! |

| Please someone explain clannad to me. I was pretty bored in the beginning but didn't drop it till halfway through the show. Is something plot changing happens? So far I forced myself through watching 14 episodes... This anime is praised so much on MAL and I just couldn't get into it... |
