Jun Maeda is the writer of Air, Clannad, Kanon and finally Angel Beats!
All characters in both series have some tragic past, accident or something tragic will during the series to them
Angel beats! has this same feel as Clannad Afterstory....
If u like one of those sad and makes u wanna cry both r really perfect
If you liked the tearjerking story from ANGEL BEATS, you should expect the same thing to happen to you in AFTER STORY.Both series are full of drama and lovable characters.
If you enjoyed the romantic, fantasy aspects of Clannad: After Story, you will delighted to know that Angel Beats has what you're looking for.
They are both set where the characters are in a highschool. Both are funny heartwarming and tear-jerking. The storyline with both drags you in and you cannot stop watching untill the last seconds of the last episode. They are also both made by Key, who are well known for their amazing anime. If you loved Clannad and Clannad: After story, you will love Angel Beats. Now go watch, Laugh and cry.
Definitely has a similar feel because both of them are written by Jun Maeda. You're gonna laugh at both, you're gonna cry at both and most importantly you're gonna enjoy both :)
Both are shcool life, funny and sad, love story and you will cry at a moment or another.
Both anime are made by the same company. Both anime are ridiculously addictive and moving and makes you feel for the characters.
Both will make you laugh out loud and then cry in the corner.
Both are very deep and sad. They are my favorite 2 anime.
Its the same people who brought you Clannad, except the setting is genuinely more interesting, and there's a tiny bit of action mixed in as well.
Both pull off comedy while still maintaining cry-worthy drama and romance.
The ending more or less gave me the almost same bitter sweet ending. Its one of those animes in which you kinda dont wish it to end but it kinda has to. Yes, it made me tear up, try it!
Both visual novels are made by the company visual art's/key.
Audience would love every character in both animes through the incredible back stories.
Both contain extremely emotional tear jerking scenes as well as well-placed humor.
Both animes contain the motif of love across dimensions.
This story is originally wrote by the same guy. If you liked clannad you like this. The story is a little hard to get your head around at first but if you pull through the first couple episodes you will see the same comedy and ideals that were in clannad in angel beats! The story will touch you just as clannad did and even make you think about your own life. You may not cry as much but there are some pretty sad events here too
Written by the same author. The only difference is that Angel Beats! contain action aswell, and is in a 'afterlife'.
Made by Jun Maeda, so you can be sure that this will be an excellent anime who also made Clannad, another story which is guaranteed to bring a tear to your eye whoever you are

The fact that they show a couple´s life before marriage and through marriage it´s common in this animes. if you like to see what happens after the "happily ever after" watch it. xD
both deal with love life of adults, clannad follows the characters as they are in school and in the after story their life as adults, itazura na kiss also follows the characters life , while it is less dramatic and dosnt have a similar art style it is also enjoyable and has its sad moments.both have a bit of good comedy.
Both involves adult, marriage life of the male and female characters, with the exception of how the plot flows.
both anime talks about life after School/Marriage, the obstacles they face ..
I'm most definitely NOT comparing Itazura na Kiss to the legendary Clannad series. It is a sin to do so.
But the story is somewhat similar. Both high school students get married, and their 'after marriage' story is shown. Both husband and wife face perils and soon have a baby. The plot is somewhat similar, but Clannad is much, MUCH more than just a simple plot. It's a world of extreme emotion, dedication, love and bonds. It's a sad world.
Compared to it, Itazura can be laughed off. Itazura is not a serious series unlike Clannad.
Those who've watched Itazura but not Clannad...see the magnanamous difference between the two series with a similar plot, and get a box of tissues ready as well.
Those who've watched Clannad already...well, Itazura's a good joke.
They both show the life of the couple not only in school, but also after it: in University, at work, at home. Different steps which are made by the characters in their life: graduation, marrige, baby-birth, quarrelins and problems of family life.
Amazing story, great art.
Rarely do you see what actually happens after, boy gets girl, or girl gets boy!
Well in both shows you get to see what happens after boy and girl becomes a couple!
Both the shows is about maturing, and growing up! All the obstacles and hardship of not only their relationship but LIFE itself! The strong bond the couples have in these two animes are also a huge similarity!
Both deal more with adults than with whiny 16 year old harem kids.
The feeling and the romance is the same. It also is the type of romance that doesn't stop after they get together, they also show the; dating, the hardships and the marriage. The only difference is that Clannad After Story is more tragic romance and Itazura Na Kiss is comedy romance. But still both were amazing animes, I recommend any of these two animes if you love romance.
What, there is life after high school? After love? After Marriage? Even after Kids?!!! Who comes up with this stuff.
Though the feeling of these two series is different, they both share the honor of having plots deeper than simple romance. Also they both have a balance between comedy and drama.
They both deal with true love about a guy and a girl. It's really heart warming. i love both of these animies to death!!!! I recommend them both
in both animes the main characters get married
both are romance
both of them have a slice of life
It goes past just school life and into there adult life's which must other romance anime don't. It also has similair events which happen in Itazura na Kiss which also happens in clannad after story.
I will almost never compare any anime to Clannad:After Story but Itazura na kiss is an exemption. Both series brake the cliche in romance and show what life is about. After Story is of course the superior out of the 2, it's more serious drama, and while Itazura na Kiss has its share of drama is more of a comedic-type anime.
Love stories that started from school and continues to their married lives........
These shows are similar in the sense that they show the couples before and after marriage. However, Clannad After Story is on a completely different Level then Itazura na Kiss. Clannad is much more serious and deep compared Itazura na kiss. Secondly Nagisa in many ways reminds me of Kotoko. They both have a lot of tenacity and determination even in the face of almost certain failure. Although the shows aren't very similar I would still make the recommendation since they cover the after marriage side of a relationship.
Itazura na Kiss is like Clannad and Clannad : AS in one.

If you like Clannad, you definitely have to watch Kanon, since it's the predecessor and a true masterpiece.
It's similar in many ways, but it can score with great characters, great comedy, cuteness, tear breaking drama, overflowing happiness and some really really fantastic and intelligent story arcs.
School life, slice of life anime based on a visual novel. Male protagonist gets to know the backgrounds and histories of several girls at his school in successive arcs (the only way that an anime based on a visual novel can be done). Helps them through their problems, and deals with his own in the process.
Both series are very touching. Storylines are a really masterpiece. Some comedy and some drama makes that shows really enjoyable. Both Clannad~After Story~ and Kanon 2006 have brilliant music and art, also in characters behaviour we can notice a lot of similarities.
Both have stories about the characters around the Mains. Both have a simmilar touch of heart pulling moments.
These anime have a very similar feeling to them. I watched Clannad ~after story~ before Kanon 2006 and when I watched Kanon 2006 I felt the same way as I had with Clannad ~after story~.
Yes, if you like one of these, you will like the other.
Both from the same creators.
both are wonderfull animes, again a beautifull story, wonderfull characters, great soundtracks, nice comedy and offcourse an emotional weight.
Definetely a must see if you liked one or the other! (if you didnt see After Story yet make sure you watch Clannad season 1 first!)
Both of these animes brought Happiness, Sadness, Anger and Hope successfully to the audience, both with relatable characters and true to life scenarios (Kanon's a little more supernatural though)
If you've seen Kanon you know what to expect with Clannad Afterstory and vice versa. Neither of these series are afraid to sacrifice main characters. Both of them have multiple, ongoing story arcs and both of them are quite sad stories until the last few episodes. Afterstory is much more similar to Kanon than Clannad the original series was mainly because Afterstory had much less of a focus on comedy and more on the drama that unfolded after the first series was over.
both anime's are dramas that focus on small towns and i guarantee that both of them will make you cry.
similar art style and has highly emotional scenes that will have you leaking tears. both are a must see for people who enjoy drama and romance
Both are made by the same production house. Also, both are anime adaptations of the visual novels by same company.
Both are quite similar in story treatment, progression and overall emotional feel of the show. You'll surely to love the another, if you liked either of them.
Both give you a sad feeling.
If you liked Clannad, you will also appreciate Kanon which is also produced by Keys. Both animes are similar in animation style, music, character design and a nice emotional story.
The lead male characters in both animes are of similar type, they go out of their way to see the smiles of others (especially people closes to them). So if you liked all he orinal aspect of Clannad you will definitely love Kanon (2006).
sadness and the out of nowhere endings(which I will not spoil!l) are very similar.these are two of my favorite anime and they are made by the same people :) I would also recommend Air.
Jun Maeda makes both of these masterpieces that go hand in hand with each other, if you see one and like it, you must watch the other
One of the most saddest anime ever!

If you watched Clannad you have to watch Toradora. They are very similar story-wise and the characters are sort of similar too. I would say Toradora had more entertainment while maintaining the I-love-her-and-she-loves-me-yet-other-girls-like-him-too sort of atmosphere. Yeah it'll most likely help you get out of the sadden state if you watched Clannad.
Both are wonderful touching story surrounding love between the main characters, their pasts as well as their families
Both the animes have twisting fates of love which really can make you feel like crying at times. Two of my favourited most "saddening" story. But they also do have humour packed with them once in a while which I garuntee that you'll literally ROFL! Overall I think they have a really good plot build up, really worth watching! Again and again if possible!
Both feature similar entertaining romcom styles, though Toradora leans more towards comedy while Clannad (especially AS) has more drama. While Clannad has stronger thematic development and is more poignant overall, if you liked one you will probably like the other.
I can't stress how much I loved both these series. Evoking a diversity of emotions (among them, laughs, hearty smiles, tears, and "aww moments" from cuteness), these unforgettable romantic comedies are the archetypes of their genre. If you enjoyed one, you will most definitely enjoy the other (although I was initially hesitant to try Clannad since it is more "drama heavy", Toradora had its tear jerker moments as well).
Enjoy!
Riotnoob.
Both are love story involving school. They are both great.
Both are romantic comedies but can still keep great dramatic moments too.
Toradora and After Story greatly share the theme of "growing up" in a sense. Clannad After Story goes with the more realistic approach though which highly suits it. Toradora has a more dramatic feel due to certain conflicts presented in the story line. Overall, Toradora's dramatic phazes can be enjoyed if you liked the drama in After Story; the idea works likewise.

Artwork in both animes is outstanding and avant-garde (same applies to ef - tale of melodies). Both incorporate supernatural characters in surreal settings and heavy doses of symbolism (ef much more so). Ef's characterization is markedly more in-depth. Clannad avoids the ef serie's intense (but well-executed) melodrama, whereas ef avoids Clannad's harem stereotypes.
Both are very sad beautiful and tear-jerking. Great storyline and character development is their feature in common.
They are sorta similar except that Clannad is the kind that makes you cry while Ef that stirs you emotionally (neither necessarily have a bigger emotional impact than the other). They are quite different too but they have a similar type of drama.
It has the same sad-scene. It makes you wanna cry so bad you evenentually end up crying.
Clannad and ef are so sad and beuatiful at the same time.
It's got the same vibe and feel about it! Both animes have great characters, and the love story in both animes are truly remarkable. What the two shows also have in common is the magic and mystery of the world the characters live in! If u liked Clannad Afterstory, you will also love Ef: A tale of memories, and vice versa! They both have bittersweet ends, where you will either end up crying, or have this sense of happy feeling when the show is done!
After watching Clannad, there are just so few anime that can touch you. I found Kannon and Air pale for example. "Memories" was the first thing in a while which really moved me.
Its hard to exactly describe but the roller coaster of feelings present in both a tale of memories and Clannad AS. They will bring you almost to tears and then straight back up again with no warning. It's an amazing ride, so amazing that I have been searching for similar feelings in other works ever since I finished these shows.

Similar feeling, similar comedy, make sure to watch Clannad before watching After Story though...
From the same maker with just the same amount of drama and a very captivating story.
Both made from the same company and in similar style. Both are moving and worthful. In Air story of protagonists take place in the past, in Clannad characters get together in other world. If you like Clannad, then you must to watch Air.
Same creators, Beautiful Story, Kawaii, moe and beautiful characters ^^, have pet xD, I don't know what to say more. xD
somewhat is kind of a similar story and u will enjoy it if u are looking for a sad theme anime xD
Just like Clannad ~After Story~, Air is also a anime that is really touching and an anime that will make you feel like crying
They both are full of drama. But the good kind. They're both cute and will give you a fuzzy feeling in your heart. (Sorry I'm corny like that). And they both make you appreciate what you have. Clannad is a lot longer though. And Air is very short.

Though this theme is alot more central to Usagi Drop, the second season of Clannad is very focused around family, and most particularly, parenthood. The protagonists in both shows have to balance their tough working lives with their family lives. The presentation of the two is a little different however, as After Story contains alot more drama in comparison to the slice of life pacing of Usagi Drop.
the hardships of raising a child alone
- Family.
- Responsibility.
- Coming to terms with taking care of a child.
- Heartwarming.
- Slice-of-life, comedy, drama.
- Good parent/guardian.
- Adorable daughter.
In clannad after story it shows someone looking after a young girl (I'm not going to say who because that will be a spoiler), and eventually their relationship growns. This is like Usagi drop
While Clannad After Story is not entirely about raising a child, it does spend a significant amount of time developing its adolescent character. If you liked the parent concept in After Story then you will enjoy Usagi Drop as the entire show is about what it's like to be a parent. Both anime display great emotions that will make you both happy and sad throughout the journey.
both these anime will assault your heart, but nevertheless you will love it ! both slice of life, both amazing pieces of art !
Both focus on the challenges it takes as a single parent to become a blissful family after tragedy of some type, though Clannad 2nd season can be grim and not for the light hearted. Clannad 2nd season's main focus is more drama and romance for the beginning majority as well. Although both do have very enjoyable prevailing slice of life theme too. Excellent voice acting for both series.

Although at the beginning of CLANNAD ~After Story~, it starts off as mostly a comedy, it gets much more deeper. They both have the same pain of losing the person you love, have the same feelings and emotions. To be honest, Tomoya reminded me of Takaki in the way they dealed with everything. They also both have absolutely beautiful backgrounds, although 5 cm Per Second's was a bit more detailed. and the last thing, they both make you want to cry.
Both tell a very sad and tender love story, and how the complexities realistic life throws at you affects those relationships.
if you like the beauty, reality and saddness of life like 5 Centimeters, Clannad ~After Story~ will be truely wonderful. (It's best if you watch the Clannad first, but not necessary)
Two lifelike series full of drama, watching them will make your eye on life more clear. The creators show us the ordeals anyone could have experienced or will experience: first love, disenchantment of one's life, death of one's dear people. I like these series for their kindness and warmth. If you happen to watch them, i suggest you start with "5cm" to enter "C:AS" in appropriate mood; after having a small depression ravine when you finish the first one you should feel clarification at the end of the second. Also, you'll have the possibility of enjoying two top notch drawing animes in a row.
Those searching for a bitersweet romance need not look further than these two animes. Both feature amazing animation, a superb soundtrack, and characters that will make your heart melt. Both can easily be considered among the best romance anime of all time.
Both start of with a boy like girl setting, then it takes a turn for the worse.
(You might face slight depression after completion of either of these series.)
Both are heartbreaking, tragic yet sentimental masterpieces of modern anime romance. Both are eccentric and innovative in their story with commendable characters. Primary protagonist in both experience nearly identical situations and experiences at some point, similar outcomes befall onto both as well.

beautiful ost and amazing plot and character development. what more could I ask? Oh yeah, more episodes or a season two but that's just too much. Just hoping that jinta gets a kid with anaru and saa-kun gets a kid and well, you do the math.
tragedy and awesome plots, these two are highly recommended.
All I can say is that so far, Ano Hana has been the only series to keep me watching until 6am and ball my eyes out since I watched After Story.
I have a feeling that Ano Hana is like Clannad in the making. Maybe the atmosphere they give off? Anyway, both are awesome (so far Ano Hana is doing good). Quite the drama too. And yeah, both have deaths in it.
If you loved the emotional roller coaster of Clannad: After Story, you are going to love Ano Hana even more.
this anime has sadness like clannad. i think u would like this anime too
both made me cry in the end of the story.
Well first of all, they both made me really sad and teary ;~;.
They both involve death, and love. They also have a triangle relationship between the main character, his lover, and his childhood friend. (Sorry, not really accurate! Trying to not give spoilers).
They both have fantastic artwork.
They are both rated 10/10 in my personal anime list!
If you enjoyed Clannad I'm sure you'd love AnoHana.

Also romance, drama, and also you can feel the life from this anime! Also, like Clannad,Kimi ga Nozomu Eien is full of feelings to friends, who later become lovers.
In Kimi ga Nozomu Eien Haruka is similar to Nagisa.
It has drama with a small amount of comedy, even though Clannad has a disappointing end for many reviewers.
Both series worth watching.
Clannad and the sequel has allot in comment especialy the sequel. there is allot of emotion in it and a true life aspect.
Lots of drama and in depth zoom on how the character(s) feel pain and deal with it (or not) Both is definitely must see.
Both series are about mediocre high school students that are involved in a romantic story that becomes tragedy later on due to certain circumstances. The main characters have a lot in common, also there are several hilarious scenes as well as confessions that make you cry.
Clannad: After Story has more drama but it is well in the same genre.
I hope you will enjoy both series as I have

If you loved clannad you'll also like myself yourself. Because both of these anime series have similar drawings, sad background stories of characters and hopeful expectations from the future and a big romance
One of the best representatives of a genre. Very beautiful histories with a shade of grief
These are both tragic love stories, and both have a happy ending in them. Not only that but its comedic just like clannad was (well in the beggining xP). Myself; Yourself AND clannad, are my 2 favorite animes hands down.
Both anime show the pain and hardship that had to be endured during the relationship. Both has a bit of comedy in it. Clannad is a bit more dramatic and imo clannad does a better job of making you feel the emotion but both anime taught me a lot.
|
|
|
Both have the same sort of drama and similar feel at some point
Both are very deep and sad.
Both have incredibly well-developed characters, and deal with parallel dimensions.
NOTE: Watch Clannad before watching After Story
Is love stronger than time? Those two animes are different but both are somewhat moving love stories with a sense of fatality. Something can compare Nagisa and Mayuri. Tsundere characters are involved in both. Okabe and Tomoya, main protagonists in their series, will both eventually be affected by depression. I'd tell more if it was not for spoiling the story.
|
|
|
Both approach adult conflicts in a very human way (Clannad AF: aftger episode 8). Both are drama + romance + slice of life and both will probably make you cry...XP
Both have hard hitting drama and lovely tales of romance. Just like After Story, Tale of Melodies isn't for the light of heart. It's not a light and fluffy rom-com. It will make you cry. That being said, both series are excellent. The story lines are incredible and definitely make you want to keep watching. Really great animes that have a very similar feel.
Plots are different, but there's drama and supernatural mystery involved on both. I loved them and cried on the few last episodes.
Both are sequels to their respective drama series. These series are imo the pinnacles of drama anime; if you liked one of them you will no doubt love the other.
|
|
|
Romance that is building up following the main character who is taking care of a child its a touching anime just like clannad I saw the recommendation of it and I watch Ababy in 2days <3 got to love it
Also depicts relations between a little girl and a young man who tries to take care of her. Plus love line with another character.
A guy who's pretty young takes care of a kid.
|
|
|
although in the exterior they look very different,Aria and Clannad are quite simmilar
Both of them give the viewer that heartwarming feeling after watching an episode.
Also both of them teach the viewer morals through the storyline.
Aria is anyway much more less dramatic, because while Clannad can be very tense at times,Aria is always laid back and relaxing...
anyway, these 2 animes are both a must watch, especially for the comedy/slice of life fans out there
Beautiful stories evoking emotional response
Both shows have the same feel to it. Watch the prequels first.
|
|
|
Both talk about a parent who is trying to raise a child correctly, but has difficulties. And both talk about some people who try to find a path for their future.
It is the same mix of humor and sadness. Both contain cute characters. Both are awesome.
Both have similar topics. When a person losses someone they loved and have to raise their childrens on their own. Extremily poweful and heartbreaking. Cute childrens ( ushio, ame) that have sad stories on their own. Both have a fantasy but intead of making the story boring and unrealistic, make it more powerful.
If you like it, you will definetly like the other.
|
|
|
Both endings are really sweet and touching. If you loved Clannad then you will love Kobato too.
Similar endings, although the story is not the same.
- Both endings are very touching and will leave you in tears.
- Both main girls are optimistic, cute, and kindhearted.
- Both have romance and some fantasy.
I definitely recommend this anime if you loved Kobato.
|
|
|
Nana is about two girl who have a lot of problems in their life and have to keep struggling, just like Nagisa had to. Both anime made me laugh and cry. The first few episodes of Nana may seem childish or boring, but that's the same problem I had with Clannad, however, in the end, they both became my favourite animes.
Most people would say there not the same but Both of them have a deep love story behide them and alot of tragedy . both will make you laugh , cry and make you feel connected to them
|
|
|
This anime is recommended because the story is well made, romance and drama sets you to thinking about real life. Like Clannad this story will touch your emotions.
This anime has 26 nice episodes, the after story off this anime isn't shown but its readable in the manga. Still i recommend the anime and the manga to the fans of Clannad after story!
--------Story -----
Yamato Akitsuki travels to Tokyo alone to study in one of the high schools located within the area. He lives in with his aunt who operates a public bath solely for the ladies in the local district and begins his normal high-school life. One day, he chances upon a girl in school and is immediately mesmerised by her beauty. He is shocked when he realise later that the girl, Suzuka, is actually living next door to him. From then on, Yamato's ordinary life begins to change little by little.
Romance, tragedy, and drama are themes of the story so if you enjoy such genres, then you will certainly like both of these two anime(s). Both series are very touching and tries to bring viewers emotion which succeeds at that. Not only that, but both of these anime revolves around the protagonist on his decision for his future as well as the relationship he makes with other characters.
|
|
|
Both series are technically solid, though plot and character-wise, they are sub-par.
Both series have one purpose: To prey on your emotion and to make you cry.
Although both series are rather different (Elfen Lied is ten times more violent and gory than anything Clannad will ever be,) but both series' do a good job of pulling at your heartstrings. If you enjoy a good cry and a heartwarming story, then definitely check it out.
|
|
|
Both pull off drama and romance really well, but also have hilarious comedy.
Both very focused on character development
|
|
|
If you liked very touching stories filled with love, like Clannad ~After Story~. Then Hanbu no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora would make it as another ideal anime that you should watch! Unlike Clannad ~After Story~, it's straight to the point without dragging it too long, explaining the short 6 episodes of the anime itself. A great short story!
Both are really sad in the romantic and dramatic way....
If you like Romance and drama with some heartbreaking moments, you'll like this one!
Dissimilarity: Clannad after story is the second season in The Clannad serie (suggest to watch both seasons though first season isn't very sad) while HnTgNS is only one season with 6 episodes while The Clannad serie keeps over 20 episodes each season.
|
|
|
Clannad ~AS~ may actually be slower-paced than H&C II, with both being peaceful slice-of-lifes tinged with despair. Very emotional stories, truly masterpieces.
Both series are pretty with compelling characters, and each goes into detail about relationships in a way that most series won't. Both are smart and enjoyable romantic series that contain a lot of laughs.
|
|
|
The setting and concept is strongly similar yet the direction of the story goes on a different route. If you enjoyed Clannad, you will love this anime because both contains the same 'Key magic' and mysterious elements to the plot
Little Busters and Clannad were both written by Key, namely Jun Maeda for the second seasons of each show. They both originate as similar style VNs, that share a common development characters through primarily slice of life comedy before more dramatic events later on. They both originate from visual novels and have some overlapping storytelling traits due to the original format.
Also, Little Busters invokes a theme of friendship, while Clannad is more oriented towards a theme of family. They're both nice slice of life shows that shouldn't be hastily judged before getting to the end of the second season of each.
|
|
|
A show that is very much emotional and heartfelt as the other.
- Heavy emotional involvement
- Involve watching someone slip away right before your eyes
- Touching character interactions
- Good character development (which Kowarekake no Orgel amazingly manages to do in 30 minutes)
- Moe
- Tugs on your heart strings
- Great music, including some tracks with powerful vocals
In reality, Kowarekake no Orgel is good if you're a fan of ANY of Key's works, but it's most similar to Air in terms of plot.
|
|
|
Both Romance,School life,Similar story
Someone loses someone that they love and involves an dues ex machina ending as well.
|
|
|
I know it can be weird - Clannad to FMAB? But I think it's not so stupid. Both of this anime are about life - in FMAB life as a living armor, for example, but you must fight for happiness. In every world and circumstances - normal (as in Clannad) and fabulous (as FMAB).
|
|
|
They are both really good drama and romance animes.
|
|
|
They both have that calm feel to it. They talk about important values and they are both one of those nice, gentle anime.
|
|
|
main male lead is the same VA as Clannad's
|
|
|
Both are about abandoned children and they both have a touching story. You will shed manly tears by the end of both of them.
|
|
|
They both have Drama and Romance in there and both are really fun Anime's to watch with True Tears you have alot of Drama that you don't expect and the same happens in Clannad After Story both are very good Anime's
|
|
|
One of the stories in Clannad: After Story bears a striking resemblance to what might have been the after story of She & Her Cat.
|
|
|
both after tragedies.
they both are tear-jerks, and get the viewers attention!
both protagonists lose the people MOST precious to them.
the major difference is the time period of the setting.
and if people tell you to stay away from Clannad just because they say it's sad. do not listen.
that's why you must watch it, to realize the significance of human values and the value of LIFE!
this is all I'm going to say.
|
|
|
An experience Tomoya had in Clannad is similar to the one Kyon experiences. It is very similar.
|
|
|
Both these anime seem to have similar elements in them that are hard to fully explain with out leading to spoilers but definitely give off the same kind of feeling.
|
|
|
Furukawa Nagisa - Konoe Nanami
Okazaki Tomoya - Tomosaka Kenji
And in both anime the male and female main character make a good couple/really cute couple
If you liked one you'll like the other at 100% the only different is the amount of episodes
|
|

These anime are both very similar in the way that the male and female protagonist meet and an instant connection forms, and it almost seems they were "destined" to meet. Also, as the story progresses you see the relationship grow stronger. Both anime have a very emotional side to them, which really make you connect to the characters and their actions.

The side story in Clannad of the girl in the lost world coincides with the storyline of The Place Promised in Our Early Days. They carry the exact same sad empty atmosphere.
Both also regard young men going through hardships due to lost loves. Ah, serious complicated love.

♫same genres (Romance, Slice of Life)♫
♫both of these series take place in high schools♫
♫both have a good if not similar statement on how life can reward you♫
♫both have the same element of a rogue if not weird or questionable person changing over time♫
♫both have a similar pattern as to how the plot goes forward from its beginning♫

♫same genres (Drama, Slice of Life)♫
♫both shows emphasize the concept finding your way when you feel lost in the world and feature a guy (Okazaki, Tomoya in Clannad ~After Story~ and Morimiya, Yorito in sola) who goes out of his way to help a lost girl (Furukawa, Nagisa in Clannad ~After Story~ and Shihou, Matsuri in sola)♫

♫they also both take place in the "real world", with the addition of some supernatural elements that are vital to the plot♫
♫both are bittersweet yet heartwarming shows that will make you laugh and cry, and are both incredible enjoyable shows♫

Both anime can be very tear jerking and really fun to watch with it's in depth characters

-Both animes's setting/story goes by an omnibus format, and have small arcs for each heroine that doesn't diverge from the central plot of the story (with the setting intact)

This anime also depicts the true love between the protagonists in my opinion..
But,CAS is far better than True Love Story in romantic concept..

They both involve similar animation and depp plots that make you wanna cry at the end but then end with a smile. they both are the deepest anime i have ever seen and teach you how to be a better person while giving you the entertainment of a extremely well written romance, comedy, drama.

If you liked the sort of melancholic atmosphere in Clannad, you'll probably enjoy the atmosphere in Cross Game. Also Baseball

You've seen one of these masterpieces and you don't know where to go next? Looking for something as brilliant and perfect which isn't a copy of the anime you just saw? This is it. Both are shinning pinnacles of slice-of-life, which may seem like a genre for which it is easy to produce animes, while in reality it's quite tricky to avoid all the pitfalls of mediocrity and make something so enjoyable and heartwarming as these two.

Both revolve mainly around a tragic romance but contain more to the series, making it all the more charming.
