| The dad is the kind of guy who would have said "Thanks, Obama" unironically in 2008. So again I was thinking "Why hasn't Hell Girl accepted requests for political leaders?" and it occurred to me: there would be a huge manhunt and countless investigations. I'm American, so I'll use its leader as an example If the US president just disappeared off of the planet, it would have a global effect. It'd affect wars and trade and who knows what else. Where's his body? Did he get kidnapped? Is he dead? People would be getting arrested and put in prison and questioned. The conspiracy theorists would be going CRAZY. There would be rioting, political upheaval. Hell Girl exists to avenge grievances, not throw the world stage into disarray. (Plus I've only ever seen episodes set in Japan, but I'm sure at least one person there would hate the US president enough to go to Hell if it meant sending him there immediately.) Meanwhile, if someone hated me enough to get Hell Girl to take me, leaving no body behind, it wouldn't affect billions of people. People would be sad, there would be blame passed around, someone might try to take revenge for me, but ultimately I'd be just another missing person, and the mystery would never be solved. A cold case. It would affect a lot of people, but not billions of them. |
