I'm still reeling from all of this. I know there's no closure and there likely won't be one, but that doesn't make what I've witnessed any less special. It was such a difficult and challenging watch, not least because of what went on, but also because I saw a lot of myself in Nana O (and her response to Hachi starting a new life with Takumi). These characters feel so lifelike, which magnifies their struggles that much more, because everything just feels....too real. Nana O hyperventilating upon realizing she's losing Hachi, Hachi & Shoji not wanting to say goodbye after meeting up after all those years, just because seeing one another reminded each of a simpler, easier time....And look at Nobu's expression when he sees Hachi's daughter in the timeskip as he realizes that child couldn't have been his after all!!!

An outstanding, exceptional story. This will stay with me for a long time.

Colour me surprised. Didn't think you could have not a single character developing or learning anything over the course of fourty-seven episodes, but this anime somehow managed it. If you're going to recycle stale relationship drama, then at least do it in the aim of a cohesive resolution.

Woah.. i should have informed me before i watch this, that it has no ending. Not even in the manga...

I loved the show but now im pissed -_-

I really wished that nana and hachi somehow ended up together....
I mean not in a romantic way, but at least as best friends who share a lot of their lifes.. they fucking deserved to be happy...

Why does it have to end like this... And if i follow what happened in the manga i dont care to read it because everything is just going to shit even more...

Man this is annoying.... This was so great untill now...

I loved Nana! But I feel like a couple more episodes were needed to properly wrap stuff up. Also, I didn't expect Nana reunion to go so, uhh.. plainly?

The ending's pretty underwhelming, but I had been warned. Still I think they should've cooked up an explanation for Nana's absence since they already bothered with the time skip anyway.

I'm glad for the closure with Shoji, and it's also good to know that Hachi's girl's healthy and on good terms with at least some members of the Black Stones. Love that they're still around after all that time, and that Nobu and Hachi reconciled to an extent. It would suck so bad if he left her as well.

You need to read the manga to find out but long story short. The band is put on hold because shin and layla are caught with weed.Yasushi tells Nana O to go single and follow her dreams. Ren heroin habit and exhaustion from work and the paparazzi cause him to crash. Nana O has a mental break down because of Ren death. Regarding nonu and nana K they dont actually get closure because nobu refused to meet nana at the fireworks display and nana k refused to explain her feeling smand decision to nobu. This is why they both cry and still harbour strong feelings for each other. But unfortunately nana is married to takumi and has his baby and loves her family. So there is no chance that nobu win her back which is why they both cry at their missed opportunity. I personally blame nobu because he chickens out twice when he had a perfect opportunity to win nana k. the first one is forgivable because it was when takumi surprised him with nana k pregnancy and made it look like she betray him. But his cowardice at the firework festival was terrible becaus ehe knew he tell liked nana k and could have at least declared his feelings and told her to pick between takumi + the baby or him and a future family.

The ending makes sense. I feel like people wanted Hachi x Nobu together, but she never did seem that into him. Hachi has always liked Nana and Takumi more. I think she liked the idea of Nobu. He was nice, really into her, and he had approval from her friends. I think she felt a bit pressured to be with him, because all of her friends said that he was a good guy and Nana told Hachi that Nobu had a crush on her.
