| Yeah, iirc when they announced them, they said the first movie will be a recap while the second is a continuation. |

| It doesn't seem to me like the first movie really caught up to the end of the series at all, actually; it felt more like it hit the halfway, or maybe 2/3 at best. Furthermore, I would say that, rather than being a retelling, this is a totally alternate telling of things, with so many details being different from the original it's really changed the face of things entirely. |
