GTO deserve remake so badly, since some 90's hits gets their remake already. GTO is still pupolar worldwide and still has a large fanbase in some country so it isn't a bad idea to give GTO a chance of possible remake. Just imagine GTO in a modernized style and they fill what missing in the 1999 version; Updated animation (like 2020s quality), The full manga story, no skipped arcs ,Onizuka in HD chaos mode ,Better pacing and character development
More emotional arcs (the manga has way deeper drama than the anime showed) If it will come true GTO fans is the most happiest people in the world haha.

They should start with Shonan Junai Gumi, because without it the ending of GTO makes no sense.
Unfortunately, Shonan is not as popular as GTO, and the first 2–3 volumes haven’t aged very well.
I think the anime adapts the first half of GTO very well, even better than in the manga (for instance, Yoshikawa’s arc is way better in the anime) and it's very sad that we don’t have an adaptation of the events after the Okinawa arc.
Don't get me wrong, I would love a new adaptation of GTO, but it is not so easy to do

I agree 100%
one of the greatest anime of all time. The modern generation of kids deserves to get their own dose of GTO.

It’s completely fine as is, it also would never get a remake due to the contents and today’s world

A lot of Shonan Junaid Gumi arcs are more or less identical, "An old delinquent returns, causes chaos and OniBaku is there to save the day".
I feel the entire series could be condensed into a 24 episode anime without losing too much.

I'd be all for it especially if they do the whole manga.

If were a remake made by a good studio, I would watch it, but I don't think it's necessary.

A remake would be cool because the ending of the anime isn't even canon but Onizuka would definitely get cancelled

Just imagine GTO in a modernized style

yeah, imagine that... a GTO with iphones, social media, rap music, and subtitles loaded with shitty zoomer slang

because that's what it would be

maybe that's what you want

In case you didn't notice these are the kinds of shows they don't make anymore that's enough of a reason not to want one, especially in an increasingly global market (Netflix, Crunchyroll etc) who have deluded themselves in to believing there is such a thing as a "modern audience", a buzzword for a potential audience that encompasses more than just the obvious target demographic, usually just guys.

That's the thing with these "remakes" you see it a lot in tv shows and video games too they always get butchered to appeal to this so called audience that usually turn out not to actually exist in significant enough numbers to matter. The fact they piss off a lot of the fans in the process doesn't mean anything either because they would absolutely despise the type of person who would like this show thinking we are all a bunch of sexists and pedos.
