Is there famous or even serial killers from the Asia region? Leading to main question is there animes or why isnt there anime based on serial killers in the vibe of a monster or historic animes. Really value input from your side of the world.

So Asian or specifically Japanese culture in this case, tends to respect the families of the victims and let them be at peace rather than have an author profit on their tragedy. Not to say there aren't anime/manga that take inspiration from it. For example, the infamous Junko Furuta case was adapted twice into manga, 17 Sai and Shin Gendai Ryoukiden. Both are about that case with one staying true to what happened and the other having a "happier" ending. Monster more so takes inspiration from multiple cases put into one being making it easier to consciously create I guess. But if you want a real story either stick with whats easy to find like tv series or documentaries about serial killers but if you're looking specifically Asian/Japanese you'd have to dig for them even the true story ones

There are serial killers in Japan, just like in every country, but they don't turn them into comics because it would be disrespectful to the family of the murdered person. It's both illegal and unethical.

I know that families usually file a lawsuit against the author or illustrator if the work perfectly matches the tragedy they experienced
